I wish they would ask about the different sauces they add, we didn’t realize there were two other sauces added besides the spicy sauce. If we had known, I think the three of us would have opted out. But it is not mentioned by the staff or the menu that 2 sauces are seemingly always added along with the spice level sauce. The veggie option was also disappointing. The photo on the menu shows broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini. We were given a small scoop of overcooked carrots and broccoli stems. Absolute mush, the broccoli was olive green and the carrots were scalloped slices, indicative of precooked/steamed vegetable blend from Cysco. Additionally, I would think if they are one of the mains in a combo, you should get more. We were given 1/4 cup, which was surprising since it was one of the “protein” options for the combo. The location in Boise has the full vegetable blend including carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, onions, etc. they also ask whether you want all 3 sauces or not. We also asked for both rice and cabbage as the base, and the ratio was 2:1 rice to cabbage. If I ask for cabbage and rice I would expect it to be half rice and half cabbage. My dad also asked for just hot sauce and the employee still added the sweet soy and whatever the translucent white sauce is. Overall the flavor is still good, the bbq chicken, katsu, and Mandi were tasty. But they were out of the fried rice special and fried chicken. I’m not sure if they were out in store, or if they didn’t want to make any more even though it was only 5:00. It feels like the staff was being somewhat careless, and the quality of vegetables was not as good as I’ve had in other locations.
On a side note, this is a great option for vegetarians, they have fried tofu as an option or the vegetables. This would also be good for gluten free and possibly vegans depending on the sauce ingredients(which I...
Read moreThe food is fantastic, but the service in the Pocatello location is horrendous! Once we went in, they made half our order and had to cook the other half. That’s fine—but they gave our food to someone else and the cashier ignore me for 45 minutes! We like their food so we went in a different time to try again. However it was another terrible experience. The guy serving the food in the front kept ignoring costs present to make online orders. When he finally did serve us he didn’t say a word to us—just gave us a blank stare and a thumbs up every time we specified what we wanted. It was just as bad as being ignored! There was no real was to know if he understood what we wanted and he was simply acting high. Then to top it off on one of our bowls we didn’t even get a full serving of protein because they didn’t have enough made—but we weren’t offered an alternative or informed it wasn’t a full serving. It is very disappointing. Despite how much we enjoy the food, I do not think we will...
Read moreCupbop opening in Pocatello is an awesome addition to the tiny amount of Korean bbq restaurants in town.
We previously went to the Cupbop in Twin Falls and we weren’t impressed. We were hesitant trying Cupbop again but we just wanted to give them another chance.
The KKO KKO Bop with Korean style bbq chicken was really good and had the perfect amount of spice. I love the combination of mixing rice, veggies, glass noodles, and chicken. The portions were great as they filled it a little past the top. A little bit more sauce would be better though.
The service was decent for the place being new. The guy making our food looked very nervous but got the job done. The rest of the staff were kind and did an amazing job.
We waited around 3-4 minutes to order. The building had decent seating and the place was clean.
Overall, our experience with Cupbop had significantly improved. Cupbop gives you another option if your looking for Korean bbq in Pocatello. Will definitely...
