Goody's Deli — Restaurant in Pocatello

TLDR: most employees are great and the food is great but the meeting room is an absolute nightmare to deal with and they’ll double book you because they are incompetent at scheduling and then they’ll interrupt your event to rush you out.

I hate to leave a one star review but I am extremely disappointed with our experience with the meeting room at goodys. I love their food, MOST of the employees are really nice aside from the lady at the bar who threw major attitude when asked for the tab. She was too busy flirting with another customer to care to help anybody else although we had been waiting to be helped before this guy came over. Anyway we rented the meeting room for my baby shower and I was told I had it from 2-6 pm. Luckily I called them to ask when I can come set up and they informed me THE DAY BEFORE MY EVENT that I only had it until 4:30. Talk about stressing a pregnant lady out. after working with them and moving my event time, they interrupted us 45 minutes BEFORE 4:30 and told us we needed to hurry up basically and that the other group was waiting to set up. They are incompetent when scheduling these things and I had to change the time of my event last minute because they failed to inform me somebody already booked after us during a time we were still supposed to have the room. We were cleaned up and out of there by 4:15 but it was so annoying to be interrupted and rushed when they were the ones that failed to schedule properly. I will say the manager offered to have us in the lobby and was trying to come up with solutions I understand it was out of his control at that point and I do appreciate that he tried but I paid for the meeting room, not to be set up where anybody...

I've been here over 10 years and FINALLY went to Goody's. Don't ask me why. I can't tell you a good enough reason I had not. I finally went today and I'm so grateful I did. OMG!! Had a salad, which I will now forever compare to any other salad I ever eat again! So Freaking good!! EVERY bite had something delicious.... you can add anything except the kitchen sink on it for Free! It wasn't just a boring salad you have to search around to find a tomato to add to the bite. There was NO searching involved. Give it a 10 out of 10. Then I had a pizza bomb. The breading alone reminded me of a time long ago when restaurants actually cared about the taste of their breading. Garlicky and buttery... Mixed with your choice of whatever....mine was the Hawaiian with Jalapenos. Not only did the jalapenos burn like they should and add that extra flavor but the combination of the tasty breading and all the extras inside reminded me of a Jersey Calzone I ate years ago and dream of often. To top it off...I had the coldest draft beer I have ever had. I needed it after that pizza bomb!! I can't believe I deprived myself of this for so long. What. A. Dummy. Don't be a dummy... try it out. You won't be...

We all have our hits and misses and today was definitely not a hit for me.

My wife and have been coming to goody’s for a few years now. The food is pretty good for the most part. Today we ordered a personal pizza, Ruben sandwich, and some breadsticks. We were first in line and then a bunch of people came in behind us. We ordered our food and sat down. We waited for almost 50 minutes, while in the meantime watching every person who ordered after us get their food! My wife finally went and asked them if our tickets had been misplaced or something since it was taking so long. The lady just said it would be out super soon. We then waited another 10-15 minutes before we got it at our table.

When the food arrived everything tasted pretty good except for the cheese breadstick’s. They were super dry and crusty. The Ruben on the other hand had me scratching my head. ITS NOT A RUBEN!!! They basically made me a Ruben breadstick pizza! It was still good but not what I was expecting. I’ll leave a picture of it so y’all can see!😂 I definitely won’t get it again tho.

The reason I’m not giving this place a one star, is because I’ve been here before and it’s usually decent. Hoping next time...
