As difficult as it is for me to write a negative review, I think it needs to be said. I only write reviews for experiences that have been REALLY impactful- good, or bad.
I trust in honest reviews to appropriately decide how to spend what little extra money I get. I appreciate knowing that my money is going to be well-spent on a delicious meal that I enjoy ☺️
Unfortunately, this restaurant did not provide me with an experience I unequivocally appreciated. I spent $27 and change (including a $5 tip) on.... Get this: A single (NOT delicious- but simple, decent tasting) burger, a typical side of sweet potato fries, and a sweet tea. Wait, what? 😳
First, the burger patty was really wide, sure... But also really thin. Not what I was looking for. You hear the term that Red Robin LOVES to use, "Gourmet Burger", and you think.... Thick, juicy, dripping burger.... Something you can REALLY get your mouth around and delightfully mau down.... At least those are MY thoughts.
However, the overall experience and cost was NOT something I construed to be at a level where I could suggest a couple of small improvements that would REALLY put them over the top, because everything else was already great as it was...
It is, honestly, disappointing that this restaurant has chosen to focus on profit instead of quality, because the atmosphere was EXTREMELY welcoming and inviting. And, from what I saw, it was an awesome place to work at- VERY understanding about family needs of their employees 🥰 If whomever owns Red Robin could learn how to reprioritize their business plan, and make some small changes that would provide a massively positive impact to their customers, they would absolutely ROCK Pocatello!
I have no clue who the owner of this establishment is, and it's not my job to track them down to let them know my personal thoughts about their business, but if they happen to see this review and would like to discuss ideas that I think could be applied to improve their customer ratings, I would be happy to do so. Under the plan this restaurant is operating now, I can't imagine it will be around much longer.
I originally asked one waitress how to get ahold of the restaurant directly if I wanted to leave feedback that may be less-than-desirable to the owner/manager, instead of putting it in my review (I was directed to the website, btw.)... Instead of writing every little negative thing about my experience at Red Robin in this review, I have decided to simply stick to the facts- as well as information I think is relevant, in order to provide an accurate description of my individual experience.
For reference, I'm adding a picture of the meal I received at Red Robin, and the receipt.
I'm also adding the place I'm comparing my meal at Red Robin to... It's a horror-themed burger joint in Salt Lake (I never thought I would be recommending ANYTHING from Salt Lake to anyone... Ever... in my life- but here we are 😆). It's called Burgertory. This place is... Clever. Awesome. Simple. Perfect. I had a meal at Burgertory about 24 hours before my meal at Red Robin.
Lastly, I'm adding pictures that I found relevant to my experience at Burgertory... Cost comparison (minus ONLY the sweet tea), actual photo of a burger from a different reviewer* (I was literally so satisfied with my meal, and price of the meal, that I was in pure bliss eating my burger, which meant I didn't even THINK about taking a picture of it, though I wish I had), and a screenshot of their website if anyone in Pocatello is in Salt Lake, and you're looking for a TRULY appetizing burger experience.
I will also be adding a 5-star review to Burgetory's Google page in the near future.
Y'all make up your own minds. ✌️🤍
Proper credit to the owner of original photos I posted, but did *NOT take (owner is identified on...
Read moreMy family and I went to Red Robin today - which was actually the first time ever for my wife and I. The host greeting us was friendly and each of the waitresses were wonderful. The food was very good. But my experience there was horrible. To explain: My entire family, including myself, wore our masks into the restaurant, while we waited for our seating and to our seats. I had sat down, removed my mask and then decided to switch seats with my daughter in law so she could eat next to her son. I did not put my mask back on to simply move two seats over. Immediately there was a woman, I am assuming she was a manager, that approached me to let me know the the restaurant's policy was to wear a mask as you entered and anytime you were not in your seats. I was surprised, a little embarrassed as her voice was loud and the customers at several tables had turned to watch. I replied that I had and showed her my mask. She then proceeded to get louder and argued with me with a statement of "no you didn't I saw you" which she said not once but three times. It was very, very embarrassing. I finally just said o.k. so the conversation could end. I know that as new customers, we will will not make a big difference in the profit margin of the Pocatello store, but I will never go there again. I was miserable through the entire meal, all thanks to a manager that had to be right so much that she chose to humiliate me rather than make sure we knew/understood the mask policy. I know this is a case of he said/she said and she probably feels strongly that she caught me bare-faced, but I know how to read large print signs, follow direction and keep those around me safe. The chances of her reading this review are slim, but if she does, I hope she understands the point I am trying to make: her perception of a situation is not infallible and she could have handled both the situation and her treatment of me...
Read moreOnce upon a time we enjoyed eating here. We returned about a month ago and they refused to serve our family of 7. They wouldn't flat out refuse us service, instead they said they couldn't host a family our size, but if we were willing to sit at 2 different tables on separate parts of the restaurant then they would serve us. Emphasis on separate parts of the restaurant. One waitress explained to the other that that wasn't true and they had hosted us the week before. The first waittress then awkwardly stared at the other and then whispered to her. She then walked off and talked with the manager. She then returned and smugly looked at us and said "if you're willing to sit at different tables then we can serve you". I looked at all the empty tables and asked why they couldn't pull 2 together or at least squeeze us into one table, OR THE VERY LEAST 2 tables near eachother???! She said they couldn't do that and if that's what we wanted then we should go to another restaurant. The one nice waitress was super apologetic... She was the only good part of this experience. Idk what had changed within a weeks time of eating here before. We usually spend about $150 when we eat here and tip around $50. We recently moved from the Boise area and NEVER had this problem there. Red Robins was one of our favorite places to dine. Needless to say, we will NEVER return here again. Whenever anyone asks for a dining suggestion I'm sure to recommend anywhere, but Red Robins now. It was not enjoyable explaining to my confused children why we couldn't eat there... and honestly I didn't have much of an explanation other than it was probably a case of prejudice... since I'm still baffled why it even happened. Never in my life have I ever experienced this kind of experience. She seemed offended we were a family of...
