Overall my impression was it was very good. My son really wanted to have a father-son dinner, and this was his choice.

There are some positives and negatives here... and then there are just realities.

The realities. It was pricier than most meals we eat. To be fair, it was no more expensive than we expected. So that was not a dissapointment, but a reality os that we won't eat there often as it's just simply a pricier meal. But it will be a nice place for a special occasion meal.... for us, the portion sizes were good. They were neither overly huge nor were they too small. We had plenty to eat. The restaurant was very very clean and I thought it was well organized. I liked the videos showing how things worked .. that was very helpful.

Positives. The staff are awesome, very helpful, and very friendly. The food was fresh and the overall flavor was good. It was a very unique experience for us, and overall it was a great experience with my son. The ponzu sauce was tasty, though the sesame sauce was my favorite... both sauces were very good. Considering how busy it was, I was impressed by how quickly we were served and our questions answered.

Negatives. Really I can only offer one negative for the whole evening. I didn't think that things were overly seasoned well. The flavor of both broths we got were very mild, and additional seasoning would have been tremendously helpful. The gyoza we ordered were a bit dull on flavor, and the sauce that came with it was bland as well... we used the soy sauce to add flavor. I prefer when the food has its own flavor and I'm not just eating food flavored with soy sauce.

If there was one suggestion it would simply be to Amp up the seasoning, but overall we enjoyed our experience and will definitely be going back to try some sushi and some different...

Shabushi is a unique dining experience that you will not regret. I went with a group of five. We sat at a long table and observed how clean and modern the restaurant looks. They obviously take pride in their appearance at Shabushi. We had a helpful server who answered all of our questions the best he can. We all got the shabu and a few sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were amazing. We got only the rolls that were the day’s special. A lobster roll, hot yellowtail roll, and the ninja roll. Every roll was amazing. The sushi is more in line with traditional style sushi. The rolls had great flavor and those who don’t normally like sushi had a hard time putting their chopsticks down. Now on to talking about the star of the show, the Shabu. From what I understand, shabu is cooking meat and vegetables in a flavorful broth. There are burners in the middle of the table. Each person can pick what meat and broth they want. I got the tonkotsu, but I would recommend the miso instead. Then everyone will pick their meat. I chose the ribeye slices and the seafood combo. I would definitely choose the seafood combo if that’s your thing. They will serve your broth and meat along with rice, mixed fresh vegetables, and sauces. Then, you find which burner is associated with the control remote in front of you. I recommend cooking at 5-6. However, be care not to burn your mouth with the broth. It’s very easy to do and I think half of us did burn our tongues to some degree. Take your time and chat. Then you simply cook the vegetables and meat in the broth. Have fun and try all sorts of combinations of meat, vegetables, rice, and sauces. I recommend eating at Shabushi, bring a friend...

Everybody that came in 30 mins or so after my boyfriend and I, were receiving their food before us. The waitress did not once say anything to us.. once we saw other people getting their food before us we said THATS IT and decided to get the check for our drinks and appetizer.. the manager came and said that she was sorry and the food was ready to come out. So why is it that when we are about to leave, the food was ready to come out. Doesn’t make sense. If it was going to take long for the food to come out the waitress should have told us but almost an hour later and nothing. It was terrible. The manager ended up saying, “the appetizer and drinks are on the house” which we genuinely appreciate. Please teach your waitresses to acknowledge that if they are busy, please don’t ignore a table that doesn’t have their food yet. Have them acknowledge that table to say, Hey the food will be out shortly or it will take a bit longer. Not sure why it took so long when you cook the food yourself. They said the shrimp but please help me understand why the shrimp would take long for us to get our food out to cook?! Because we ourselves cook it. Doesn’t make sense at all. Horrible experience and this was something i was looking for forward to and it was terrible....

My cousin and I went for lunch one day. We got 3 rolls and the shabu to share. The rolls we got were Spicy salmon, Alaska roll, and Super crunch. It was the best and cheapest sushi I have had in town. It was our first time doing the Shabu. We got Tonkotsu (Pork bone base) broth with Filet Mignon and ribeye as our 2 trays with a extra wagyu tray. The filet was super flavorful or being a lean cut. The ribeye had a more meaty flavor vs the filet but was still very good. The wagyu was a experience. It was super good it almost melted in your mouth, it falls apart without having to chew. Overall I’m very satisfied with the food and the service. I look forward to my next visit 10/10
