Carlito's Mexican Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Pooler

Horrible experience it was our first time at the new location and we will not be returning our server Preston was great and the margaritas were as well but our food and the treatment from the manager Carlos was the worst I’ve ever experienced at ANY restaurant. We ordered queso at the same time as our drinks and we got our drinks and ordered food and still no queso so we asked the server about it and for more chips and salsa since we were still waiting and for a Friday night the restaurant was not even busy so he told us it was coming. So our food finally came out piece by piece and the first two items were fajitas and they weren’t even hot or sizzling the queso came out and wasn’t hot the rest of our food came and was horrible the shrimp was horrible and we let the manager know and he said he’s couldn’t waist money or take it off our bill he said he not gonna just waist product and it was nothing he could do but bring the bill even though we didn’t eat the food we left everything on the table the food was dry with no taste just a...

This is a revisit about a year later (10-19-22) I usually get the same stuff so as not to be disappointed. I should have gotten the usual. I got the shrimp tacos and they were not good. It came with a lime instead of a lemon but i gave it a go. It didn't help. I added rice beans and salsa but nothing was helping thesebshrimp tacos out. Also the shrimp were overcooked. I didn't attempt to get a manager based on previous reviews. So i just left knowing notnto order those again. Im usually very impressed with their food quality but today was not a good day for Carlitos in my book. As a result I had to decrease my 5 star rating to 3.

Alejandro was amazing. At the end of my diining experience he mentioned he was new to serving and I was very surprised. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recomendations like the hawaiian fajitas and oaxaca fajitas. I ended up with texas rice beacuse thats what I came in for. We went here for a midday meal and are sad to say we definitely cannot recommend this restaurant. We ordered Jamaica and Horchata for drinks and they both tasted off. I ordered the Porky’s burrito plate that just came as pork roast thrown in flour tortilla wrap with a little cheese on top and nothing else. They also put a potato in my rice to try and compensate for the way it was over salted. My wife ordered the enchilada Screamer and it was WAY over slated. I literally only took one bite of it and I still taste the salt almost an hour later, and that is not an exaggeration. On the up side, the street corn we ordered was pretty good. We did not eat our entrees and they did not charge us for them. We did pay for the corn and drinks however.
