There are several Korean restaurants popping up in Pooler, thanks to Hyundai mega plant. It’s a welcoming sight to add more international diversity to this SE Georgia town. Jin Guk is probably the most authentic and most flavorful restaurant of all Korean restaurants in Pooler. It’s owned and operated by vibrant and gifted, 77 year old lady and her 81-year old husband. The menu is limited hut has enough variety of dishes for all tastes. The seafood scallion pancake was packed with ingredients, and the batter is crisped to perfection. Banchans (sides) were truly tasty balanced with sweet and sour; black bean noodles were the best I had in GA, not to mention the classic bulgogi had a fantastic balance of flavor. My chef friends have texted me how great her spicy pork feet (specialty of the house). The owner was so kind and chatted at our table as if we were at her home. Great food, great experience, highly recommend if you want truly authentic food.

I’ve been to this place a few times before, but I’ve never been this disappointed. The staff seemed busy cleaning empty tables, and no one gave us menus for several minutes until we asked. If they were that busy, wouldn’t it have been better to let us know? We ordered half & half jokbal and galbitang, but they didn’t bring any rice. I remember rice used to come with the galbitang before. Also, the glass noodles in the galbitang were really soggy, and the galbitang taste wasn’t the same as before. The staff wasn’t very efficient — they brought the scissors, bowls, napkins, and plates one by one instead of all at once. There aren’t many Korean restaurant options in Pooler, but I’m not sure if I’ll come back again.

Hidden gem in the heart of Pooler that we never came across because it's tucked in the back of the busy streets. When you walk in, it's simple, nothing fancy, just a home feel and welcome. The banchan (side dishes) were fresh, and not overly salty like most restaurants. We ordered an assortment of dishes on the menu and not exaggerating, every dish was delicious and reminded me of mom and grandmas food growing up. The owner checked up on us throughout the meal and the service was so comforting. We will definitely be coming back.
