My party of 3 went for brunch and our waiter was friendly, polite, and definitely wanted to make our experience there great. However, he may have been new? We looked at the menu online before going and the menu we were given was slightly different. We were not given a drink menu, but I ordered a latte (on the online menu) and our waiter confessed he didn’t know what that was. I simplified it and just asked for coffee and milk, despite looking over and seeing an espresso machine sitting on the counter. My husband had regular black coffee which he said was just “ok.” My husband had a BLT with eggs. He said it was good and thought the eggs were cooked well (over easy). I had a quiche Roosevelt with hash browns. The quiche seemed very dry. As I cut into it the filling just crumbled. The ham was dry and part of the filling had a weird burned spot inside. We suspect it was previously made then microwaved, which would explain both the dry filling and burned spot inside. The hash browns were fine. We also had beignets which were ok. I did overhear a woman putting in what sounded like room service orders which included items that were not on the menu we were given. I’m not sure I’d suggest visiting this place for brunch or lunch, as we don’t plan to return for either. I imagine it could be nice to go in the evenings for drinks as it had a cozy feel with sofas and velvet chairs and a nice view...
Read moreWe stopped by here on a whim after reading reviews and seeing “best dirty martinis” and… we have to second this. The environment is upscale. The bartender Lauren did let us know ahead that our outfits (wife’s bathing suit with cover up, and my swimming trunks and tee shirt) didn’t meet their dress code, but as long as the manager was okay, she would gladly serve us. Some may take offense to that, but we appreciated the directness and transparency, communicated in the nicest way. The dirty martinis and Old Fashioned are ordered were, indeed, top tier. Good little hideaway spot that not a lot know about. We came in a Sunday afternoon, so very relaxed, chill, and laid back with live acoustic music and gorgeous weather. A spot to absolutely add to the list if...
Read more5 stars because it’s on the island. If it were in a big town they’d have to step it up. Food is really really good but not great. No actual complaints. I just know great food and am a bit spoiled from it. Oysters Rockefeller needed more time under heat as the cheese wasn’t even melted in the oyster was raw. Otherwise, great flavor. The bacon wrapped tenderloin medallions had a thimble of completely uncooked raw meat inside of a ton of bacon. The crab cake was great. Warm spinach salad was nice. I always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt as long as they try, and this place clearly tries,...
