So close yet.. When you first step in, the relaxing and gentle tone of this place pulls you in right away! My husband and I had the option to sit at the couches or tables, so we 1000% went for the nice comfy couches. They were clean and clearly well maintained, or they got them brand new the day before our visit; which wouldn't shock me due to their condition. Given by other reviews though, that appears not to be the case, so we'll land on well maintained and clean! And what a breath of fresh air that is... Total 360 from average places that have any kind of cushioned seating. The dividers could be a little longer, giving you just a bit more of that "homey" relaxing/ private space from your neighboring foodie. But we sunk back and enjoyed nonetheless! We ordered the Emerald Roll, Fried Spring Rolls, and Gyoza to start. LET ME TELL YOU! Chefs Kiss, beautiful. To the chefs working in the back, I wish I knew your names, we came on 2/2 around 5pm. You are superiorly talented. The roll was make with excellent craftsman's ship, Gyoza came out in perfect texture, and the spring rolls I actually enjoyed best with the sauce that came w/ the Gyoza! The only knock I have on the food was ordering the Chicken Teriyaki? Came out a little sub-par, but we took it home with us anyhow. My real reason for the deduction of 2 stars is based off the service alone... I wish I had more to say, be we hardly saw our waitress. However, whoever the busser/ helper is; PROMOTE THEM, they would be a fantastic addition to your wait staff as she took care of us very well in the areas she was tasked with. As a busser, she single handedly stopped this from turning into a 2, and is why we left a decent tip. In hopes that it is split and shared with her. She almost even convinced us to stay for dessert, but it wasn't worth waiting a decade for our waitress unfortunately. If I had cash, it would have been in her hands. Next time I won't make the same mistake girl, I got you. From casual, to not-so-casual, service should remain; because what's the point of the rest if you don't have that?
I'm sure I'll be back again and hopefully I'll be able to change...
Read moreI rave about this place consistently because I've always loved the food and never had a bad experience. A month ago I took my son on a Monday evening and ordered more food for later to take home. It was awful. I'm not sure what happened to the establishment or if it was just because it was a Monday. I was happy to hear they had seaweed salad as most of the time they sell out (I guess being a weekday vs weekend?) It was so terrible I closed the lid back on and asked the waiter to kindly remove it and I never ask to do things like that because I typically muster through food that isn't that great- this will tell you how bad it was that I couldn't even have it on the same table as the other food. (It had a very dim color vs that bright color) The edamame half way through was cold. My son and I just ate it. We ordered fried spring roll which was mushy inside. I let my son finish he seemed to enjoy it not knowing it's supposed to be crispy. The sushi was actually not bad but I'd prefer my salmon to be completely cooked with no raw pink like I've had done plenty of times before, but it was the best item on menu we ate. (Tempura salmon I ask to cook it) The to go -the fried vegetables were good and crispy. The tom yum soup was just horrendous. Someone in the kitchen messed it up so bad my husband didn't even finish half of the bowl I took home. I threw it out but before I tasted it and it was sweet- tom yum isn't sweet. We have had it with chicken and other times shrimp it's never sweet. It didn't taste the same soup. The waiter was nice. The atmosphere was nice too. I prefer no tvs as a distraction for some folks I really enjoy the low key music instead. Roy was definitely not there that night. My man if you see this I hope things are getting better because I'm hesitant to go back even for a weekend. As someone who absolutely loves your restaurant- if you have good people working for you hold on to those they'll elevate your business and anyone else in the way let them go because it's starting to affect your customers experience. Good luck and hopefully one day I'll...
Read moreWas headed to get Pho at our favorite place but they were closed. So we decided to try Roy's based on a friends recommendation.
Arriving on a Sunday evening on a holiday weekend, we thought it would be packed; however that wasn't the case. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and sat.
Looking around the place, the decorations were beautiful and the seating was slightly spaced a apart for social distancing. The entire staff was wearing masks.
Our waiter, Michael, arrived at the table just a few moments after we sat. Can't say enough how pleasant and courteous he was while we enjoyed our meal.
The timing of the food delivery was excellent and Michael ensured the table was cleared of dishes along with making sure everything was to our liking.
The entire meal was amazingly delicious.
Our order: Thai Ice Tea: $3.00 - (One of the best I've had) Steamed Dumpling: $8.95 - (perfect mix of chicken, pork, mushroom and chestnut) Pad Thai: $15.95 - (super delicious, will be our go to place for Pad Thai) Combo Roll #1 Dinner: $18.95 - (a lot of sushi for 1 person, could be a shared dish. Want to go back for this dish, highly recommend if you love sushi, very fresh) Hot Jasmine Tea: $2.50 - (perfect jasmine flavor) Thai Donut & Vanilla Ice Cream: $6.95 - (the donuts were very light, we finished the entire dessert)
Subtotal Bill: $56.30 Tax: $3.94 Total Bill: $60.24 Tip: $18.76 Overall Total: $79.00
Would we go back? Absolutely! This will be our favorite Thai and Sushi place, from the food to the friendly staff, we can't rave enough about this place.
Thank you for checking out my review. Let me know if you have any local spots that you absolutely love, we love...
