We ordered dinner from here the day after Thanksgiving 2023. I got severe food poisoning. To the point I had to go to the doctor. The food not only looked and smelt weird, it tasted terrible. I got the beef and other family got chicken, so no one else fortunately got sick. It was literally the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. I was so sick and so dehydrated. I assume what happened is they cooked the food on Tuesday/Wednesday and was closed Thursday for Thanksgiving and then maybe didn’t store it properly or was just bad by Friday. I called the restaurant the next day to tell them how sick I was and even went into some deep details as to what happened to me because of their soured food but they told me they would have to call their insurance to see if they could refund me my money for the bad meal. Never heard back-still to this day. I wouldn’t have written a bad review honestly if they had made it right, because stuff happens. But it was literally the worst I’ve EVER felt and they didn’t even care to follow up. I’ll never ever ever eat there again and wouldn’t suggest anyone else do either, not only for the food but for the poor...
Read moreMy one treat for myself when celebrating a positive event in my life or treating myself after a bad day, is Chinese food. Important context because I try out new Chinese places pretty often as I travel. I've lived in Portage for a few years now and have frequented Beijing the entire time. They always greet me with smiling faces and are very prompt with making my orders. I haven't taken advantage of it often, but they also deliver which is pretty awesome for a small shop.
I'm a fairly picky eater and I'm used to getting my orders back incorrect (cough cough looking at you South Haven McDonald's) but Bejing NEVER once have they made a mistake with my order or gave me a final product I wasn't pleased with.
As food prices have risen at restaurants all over the area post-pandemic, their prices have stayed relatively stable and very fair.
I can't recommend them enough, whether to a casual foodie or a chinese...
Read moreWe did not realize there was no in-place seating at this restaurant, so that was a bit off-putting. But np. We aint fussy and found a lovely park with picnic tables n pavilions nearby. Menu is slick, animated and well-lit. The whole area is crammed with boxes, deep freezers and debris. I get being carry-out only and not having to deal with the mess and annoyance of customers is absolutely preferable to in-house. However, the general chaos here just feels --- weird. Aside from that, I got the seafood delight. SO got the garlic chicken. He was vexed he'd inadvertently chosen chicken that wasn't deep fried eye roll the meals didn't take long to prepare. The owners/staff/IDK were exceptionally nice and offered plasticware and brought the meals to us soon as they were ready, so that was a very kind gesture. My shrimp was fab and I loved all the fresh...
