REALITY N RATING ORDERING FOR PICK UP IN 2020-BRISKET READS AS CHICKEN? (Even with “Preemptive Failure Tactics”). For those who just need a quick answer because hungry n musing on where to order from- HARD PASS ON CHILE. Just Pass, Keep Looking. For others who like reading “dramedy” details-Read on curious friends:).
It Is The Dark Night Before Thanksgiving... I just moved and of course- The “Kitchen Box” (You knew it was a bad idea to put everything absolutely necessary in one box...but moving stinks n just sooo tired). No Thanksgiving this year because its 2020...and plane travel with a caravan of adults and children...to have Turkey Day with the Grandparents who are both high risk...Its Not Happening. It is what it is, ie Social Distance Rules. Everyone has to do their part to stay and keep others safe. But, Hey!- I, at least, can use technology and have a nom nom meal!
NOW- THE ORDERING AT CHILES. (I would also like to preface that it has been a while since I ordered from them and I used to like them ok-many, many years ago. Ordered 2 Entrees bc it occurs to me “Huh, everything closed tomorrow which means I have nothing to eat for two days”. (Ugh, Kitchen Box-where are you). I even “splurge” and even order the carrot cake (I post turkey pumpkin pie too). I order BRISKET Quesadillas bc I KNOW that ordering CHICKEN Quesadillas but requesting no bacon- will probably end badly-This is my personal “favorite irony”-I am already trying to troubleshoot “preemptive order failures”. Faith in Ordering has taken some hits but Chiles took the Gold Medal. I don’t write reviews very often (Only For The Best of Best. or Worst of Worse) n to write such a long one-yeah it was that bad.
RESULT- you guessed it, CHICKEN Quesadillas loaded with Bacon. Now- I am hungry and irritated. But now I feel even worse because I will be THROWING FOOD AWAY-ON THANKSGIVING!- I consider wasting food the worst- and to do it on a day where charities and volunteers go above and beyond to feed the hungry...but I literally cannot eat it nor can I give it away (2020...). I am going to be hungry tomorrow because the other entree is dinky rubbery chicken fingers (Crispy???-in what universe). And Now everything is Closed.
I CALLED CHILES. Because, DARN IT, “I did everything possible to not have this order mess up”. They said because it was a DoorDash delivery they Cannot (IMHO- Will Not) do anything. And if I wanted to, Go to DoorDash and order again...
(“EXCUSE ME?- THEY did not mess up. CHILES did. And WOW- Thats your Best? That’s taking responsibility for owning your mistake——I should go online. Go to Chile. Order Again. Pay a service and delivery fee again. And then wait again...WAIT, oh yeah, everything is closed at this point”. I have trouble understanding how Brisket Reads as Chicken...and PS The Carrot Cake was dryer than the Mohavi Desert. I did find later, when throwing the food away-a dip container with the rubber chicken fingers that wasn’t honey mustard. Maybe that was the “delicious caramel” from the online description. Alas, we will never know. And it would not have improved it much, just sayin....
FINAL CONCLUSION Exhausted and Fatigued with the Move. Add Sad about this Holiday season. Multiply it by Hunger... Finalize Equation with CHILES... (Full transparency I did use DoorDash Help and they credited me the amount of...
Read moreWe were a group of 4 that decided to go here at around 7pm on Sunday, February 25th, 2018. Right off the bat, we were seated in a booth in a narrow walk-way. As soon as we turned the corner, I had to abruptly stop due to a mess on the floor. The mess was pretty big and we all had to step over it. The young waitress came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. One in our party ordered a black cherry margarita, two ordered water and I ordered a Dr. Pepper. The waters and Dr. Pepper came right away. But, the margarita took forever. Then, we had to wait for everyone at the table to get utensils. After the margarita FINALLY came, it was very sweet so, the person requested an additional mug of water. Another couple was then seated in the booth behind us. After waiting several minutes, the our friend reminded the waitress about the water as she brought our utensils. She said that the water would take a minute, as they had just put a bunch of mugs in the dishwasher. But, just a couple later, she walked by with 4 mugs for the couple seated behind us! After a couple of minutes, our friend was tired of waiting and got up to speak to the manager. The manager assigned us a new waitress, who promptly brought our friend a mug of water. Then, our food came. After we began eating, I noticed that my meal didn't have the dill pickles it said it would. And, my spouse didn't get the cob of corn that their meal was supposed to have. So, we told the new waitress. She said they were out of pickles but, I could have another side if I wanted. I told her "that's okay." But, she did get my spouse a cob of corn. Then, a couple of minutes later, the manager brought me a little stainless steel cup filled with some sliced "pickles" they had just whipped up. It was slices of cucumber that had been doused in vinegar and sprinkled with dill weed. The couple behind us left before us, because they had gotten served before us! When we were done, the new waitress came and said she would be taking 25% off of our two bills for all our trouble. Needless to say, this was a pretty bad experience, right from the get go. We should have NEVER been seated next to a mess on the floor! And, the first waitress...
Read moreWonderful visit. Our server was Amber & she did a GREAT job taking care of our table. Fast seating. Fast service. Didn’t wait long at all for everything to come to us even with a rush hour at dinner time they were on top of everything. She even brought us extra chips, to go drinks, boxes with a big bag for our food we couldn’t finish.. A step up from a visit to another location in Battle Creek a few months ago. Steak was seared to absolute perfection. They got the temp just right. Good portion sizes. I ordered the sirloin dinner from the 3 for me deal as well as a side house salad & Texas cheese fries for an appetizer. My bf got himself the big burger & we split the chips & salsa he got. He also said his burger was great. We ended up regretting not getting dessert as the lava cake sounded good & they have a Reese’s pie that looked bomb. They have ice cream to I wish we got something for a sweet treat at the end of the mea lol I used my gift card to pay for the meal our total was $41 & some change. Not bad for everything would have been double the price anywhere else. Also compliments to the chef as I feel they never get the love they deserve making all the plates they do daily for so many people can be hard to please everyone. Thank you for the phenomenal experience. We had a good time & will for sure be returning very soon in the...
