From the moment we stepped into this spot, we knew we’d stumbled on something special. The owners and staff made us feel like regulars from the start—super friendly, warm, and absolutely full of amazing local tips. You can tell they love their community and want you to experience the best of it. The vibe? Totally hip and buzzing. It's got that effortlessly cool, urban energy you hope for when you're in a trendy wine bar, without the attitude. It strikes the perfect balance between stylish and welcoming. Great music, a fun crowd, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to stay for hours. Now, let’s talk about the Italian food—as someone from the Tri-State area with very high standards, I was seriously blown away. Perfect for date night, a casual evening with friends, or even a solo glass of wine and some people-watching.

Wine not?! So glad Angoor came to Portland- we’ve been craving a great wine spot since we moved here several years ago- and this just checks all the right boxes. The Vino by the pour (2, 4, or 6 oz) experience gives all the flexibility to sip at your own pace, and all the fun of experimenting, whether in the mood for conversation and comparing tasting notes, or just relaxing and people watching, or Portland watching. The owners are lovely, the staff is welcoming, the vibe is honestly just open, airy, and ‘choose your own adventure’, where you can’t truly go wrong. Charcuterie is a 10, and the desserts are a 12. Total ‘glass half full’ experience that’ll leave you with a smile and a skip in your step. Especially after a few pours;)

I recently partnered with Angoor Wine Bar to host our Dachshunds of Maine meetup, and I can’t say enough good things about this place! The space is absolutely beautiful, with a cozy and stylish vibe and the perfect outdoor patio! Their self-pour wine concept is such a fun and unique experience—something totally new to Portland! So many wines to choose from but their process made it easy to try a little bit of everything. The food was just as good: from the flatbread to the charcuterie boards and samosas, everything was delicious. The owners and their team went above and beyond with their hospitality and made everyone feel welcome. Truly phenomenal service. Thank you Angoor Wine Bar!

Angoor is a fun new self-pour wine bar in an up-and-coming section of outer Fore Street. The self-pour aspect is novel for Portland, and is a blessing and a curse. I'll just put this out there...I have absolutely no willpower. You give me a wine card with unlimited pours and I treat it like an open bar wedding. Heck, eventually I might even dance.

So here's how it works: You link your credit card to a wine card, and then have free rein to all 32 offerings around the bar. All are available in 2, 4 or 6 ounce pours, and there is a pamphlet with detailed descriptions of each. These are finely curated selections from around the world that I haven't seen before. So if you're hoping for Josh or Whispering Angels, this may not be the bar for you. When you finish your wine, you just go back up and pour a new one. Prices are clearly labeled for each wine, with 6 ounce pours ranging from $9 to over $24 (for the very high end wines). The option for 2 ounces is a great opportunity to sample luxury, and then buy the bottle retail if you love it.

Angoor also partners with the nearby Cheese Shop to construct some of the best charcuterie boards in the city. These are very generous portions and the perfect accompaniment to the wine. Empanadas and other shareables are coming soon.

The atmosphere is classy with various tables, couches and bar stools for seating. It's an attractive space to drink far too many fancy wines. But there is an elephant in this room. When you cash out on the tablet, the dreaded tip options appear of 15%, 20%, or 22%. With self pour, by definition, you're doing all of the work. Especially if you didn't get food. So what are you tipping on? This is an awkward end to an otherwise fantastic experience. My solution is to just drink so much wine that you no longer care. Luckily, Angoor makes it very...

We were searching for a place that did charcuterie and stumbled upon Angoor for our date night. We loved it - everything from the atmosphere to the food to service was excellent. We were the last table inside and got a chance to speak with the owner and she was absolutely wonderful. We love that the owner served us and was there doing the work.

The food was outstanding. I was expecting a frozen flatbread for the pizza but it was this delicious fig, goat cheese and prosciutto on a delicious baguette. I think this pizza was actually my favorite part of the meal. The prosciutto bites were also very delicious. The charcuterie board was a good size and was great. It was served with a fig spread and honey. Would love to see maybe a roasted garlic spread in addition to this in future and maybe some rotating special cheeses? They just opened up in May 2024 so I know they have a lot more excitement to come and we look forward to coming here again.

Did I also mention that they have a pour your own wine system? It was really lovely - I had the Barra Pinot Noir which was quite nice. You can select different pour sizes and they have liek 32 different bottles ro something to choose from and they are always rotating. Great place for winos to sample different bottles and to graze.

The ambience is really cute as well. Marble top tables with gorgeous velvet/corduroy seats and gold embellishments. Definitely great for a date night, after work drinks and nibbles and girls wine night Wednesdays, rehearsal dinners and work gatherings/parties. There is an outdoor area - however, it is mid fall and was very chilly so the tables are not outside but this will be a great spot in winter but even more fun in summer when they utilize this outdoor space.

Best of luck and can't wait to see this...

Portland is a hub of the best food and beverage industry in New England. We have bars and restaurants come and go every year and it takes something special to make it in this area. Angoor Wine Bar has that magic touch. Rafael, Sangeeta, and their staff have brought a unique experience to the area that you have to experience to truly appreciate. Between the rotating self service wine selection, the expanding options of well prepared food, and all at a price point that doesn’t break the bank, you will have an unforgettable experience that rises levels above other offerings in Portland’s Old Port. The modern, yet welcoming environment and depth of knowledge of the staff enhance the experience even further. If wine isn’t your glass of choice, don’t worry. Angoor offers an excellent selections of whiskeys, beer, and other beverage options which will appeal to every visitor. I personally recommend finding a seat at the bar, sampling several of their over 30 various bottles of wine, ordering a charcuterie board, and striking up a conversation with the very welcoming staff. You will not only have a wonderful evening, but you will discover a new destination that you will want to return to...
