Okay so I came from Eugene to try this place. Would I do it again? No. Would I try it again if I was visiting Portland, maybe. We got the mango tango, Georgia peach, passion fruit and the blue rose. Firstly these desserts alone were almost $50. Which for a viral dessert I don’t min paying. But after trying them I was thoroughly disappointed.

Firstly the mango tango. The actual dessert was like 70% just sweet cream. There was about 30% filling. Which got me excited since some flavors didn’t have any filling. However, with a name like mango tango I expected a burst of mango. Unfortunately what I got was spiced apple sauce. It is fully cream and there’s no crunch or bite to it at all.

Next the Blue Rose. I hated this one, just because I wasn’t expecting it to be chocolate. I let the vendor pick one for me and that’s my fault. It’s a VERY dark chocolate mouse/ cream with a raspberry filling. There is very little sweetness to it and it’s very bitter. Usually raspberry goes good with sweet chocolate since the berries are tart and it’s opposites. But this was bitter from the chocolate and sour from the berry’s. I tried this with some friends and 3 didn’t like it but one did. I guess if dark chocolates your thing then you may like it.

The Georgia Peach. This one was fairly good. It had a nice refreshing flavor and was a bit chilly to bite into. Kind of refreshing to try after a bunch of other sweets. It’s like 90% cream and like 10% filling. My first bite was straight cream, and honestly it made me a bit sick with how sweet it was. Again this is a me thing. I have some sweet sensitivity. So something to take into account.

Lastly, my absolute favorite. The passion fruit. This has no filling. However, unlike the others. The cream actually had a good flavor. It was a bit sour but still sweet. Very fresh tasting. I loved it and if I went back I’d for sure get...

Update February 2023 Wango tango with a Mango Tango ...excellent Holy Schmokes...a 5 star kick up from the 3 posted on an earlier review!!!!! The Mango Tango was a perfect blend of tropical tart and sweet. The real kicker is the "cake" , un like any other cake I've tried , moist and melt in yo mouth good. Recommended 😃👌 We were cruising Hawthorne and just happened onto CPP. Actually it was that Pretty in Pink Corvette parked outside CPP that caught our attention first. Strolling in, the first thing that caught out attention inside was THE PINK. A quick second thing was the great aroma that was swirling around. The butta, the baking smells said to me --Get in line and start eyeballing the the pastry case. And what a case! Great display of macarons and pastries lined up just waiting to be sampled. We ordered a Pink Lady which is a grapefruit guava pastry bomb and a passionfruit mango macaron....to go When we got outside we unwrapped the macaron first. We both took a first bite and looked at each other and almost immediately said the the same thing...............SO DAMN GOOD but Where's the flavor????!!! The macaron was definitely pretty colored tasty and buttery and definitely well made but where was the mango passionfruit?????????? After finishing off the macaron in the next bites , we unpackaged the Pink Lady. AGAIN!!----pretty, well made, tasty BUT where was the grapefruit guava???????. The was a center filling that is clearly visible but the fruit flavor was exceedingly muted. Exceedingly. FINAL TAKE---great buzz , good service, nice pink decor , a bit spendy for the gig, great smells , good tasting product BUT.............minimal flavor profile. We will probably got back and try a more typical flavor like a chocolate something and maybe...

Personally it is too pink in here for me, but it is WORTH IT! I appreciate the "extra"ness of the atmosphere because the desserts here are also over the top. It's really close to "Modern-Bohemian" design style but make it pink. Aside from that, which is hardly worth mentioning compared to their treats, you have to come here and try as many things as you can. Bring a minimum of $30 but if you can spare $50, bring that. It's not because it's overpriced or anything. It is worth it in the world of foodie goodness. I've had delicious inspired lattes, and the baked goods are top tier. They're almost too perfect to eat. The most aesthetic food I've had the pleasure of laying eyes on. The prettiest. If someone owed me a serious and questionable apology, an offering from the case at Champagne Poetry would certainly win points back with me. I even tried one of the most basic items this time, the chocolate chip cookie and the spinach artichoke pastry. (Plus a tiramisu latte & two or three other cakes, of course. This is what $40 will get you). I had to take a photo of the moisture inside the cookie. They have made a solid attempt to the crispy outside and doughy chewy middle and it is a hit. This cookie is thiccc. Don't miss out on lychee, peachy, every color of chocolate, berries galore, nutty pistachio, Thai tea, ube, yuzu, & pandan flavors, etc. at this superb japanese fusion bakery. They even have a savory breakfast menu, specials, and...
