We spent one day in Portland and decided to do the Portland Donut Tour. It came highly recommend from friends. We couldn't miss the opportunity. I am so glad we booked the tour!
Kris was our guide (owner too). He was very good at communication leading up to the tour. He was prompt and our 11:30 tour started on time. We skipped the line at the famous Holy Donut to sample the pumpkin donut and chocolate sea salt and were give brief tour inside. The next stop was Eighty 8 Donut Cafe to sample mini donuts. The last stop was gourmet donuts at Yuri's Desserts. These were all amazing donuts and very unique.
The tour was so much more than the history of donuts. Kris did a fantastic job of sharing some of the history of Portland and showed us some of the unique architecture from rebuilds after the fires. It was fun and educational at the sametime!
He also has a new tour doing Lobster Rolls around downtown. If we had another day, we would have done that one too! I would highly recommend this tour - don't think twice,...
Read moreMy wife and I signed up for the Portland Donut Tour on a whim after visiting the Portland Souvenir Shop. We like donuts and were hoping to learn more about the city. Frankly, the bar was low for us in light of past experiences with formal tours in other places. But wow. The tour was an absolute blast. Our guide, Kris, was a fountain of knowledge about Portland’s history, culture, and (most importantly) beer and food. He was also very personable, and he didn’t judge us for being Astros fans. The donuts were amazing. Perfect portions paired with plenty of picturesque sites. It was certainly one of our favorite experiences of our trip. If you want to learn about Portland, laugh, get some steps in, and eat some of the best donuts in town, we highly recommend Kris and his Portland Donut Tour. It was a pleasure and we couldn’t...
Read moreYou’re going to nibble, but you also get to walk it off! My daughter and I had a great time on the Donut Tour of Portland. This was definitely more up her alley than mine but since Kris gave us a taste of Portland history along with the sugar rush I was cool with it. All the while I’m trying to figure how to do the same thing in Atlanta with a lemon pepper chicken wing tour during World Cup next year. (Spoiler Alert: Bet you’ll never look at a potato the same way after the tour. Mind blown 🤯.) Our experience was extra special because it was just me and my daughter. I got to ask plenty of questions and Kris was more than gracious with his time. Whether you are a Homer Simpson donut connoisseur or the type who only indulges in such guilty pleasures on vacation I highly recommend this tour...
