We saw some photos in social media and thought we should stop in. I was super impressed! The staff were SO nice that I wanted to stay and chat all night. We had a warm sake which was yummy, and edamame and veggie gyoza to start. Both of the apps were delicious and only lightly salted which was great for my partner who has cardiovascular disease, so sodium is important. He had the spicy pad Thai which I tasted - it was really good, with well rounded, but punchy flavors. I had a few sushi rolls, mostly vegetarian and one soft shell crab. All were a great size and tasted delicious. I have to say that I look for sushi/sashimi spots with lots of vegetarian options because I really don’t love meat, Keg and Kraken had lots of veggie special rolls which was amazing! We finished up with the ice creams and the sticky rice - the sticky rice was my favorite, and the green tea ice cream. My photography partner loved the coconut ice cream! We took a few bubble teas home for our daughter and they were well packaged for travel and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant name intrigued me - I mean, how could it not? I placed my order due to the positive reviews on Google Maps of its vegan options. My order consisted of the Massaman Curry with soy vegan nuggets (with Thai basil and bean sprouts at medium spice level), Avocado Kyūri and Tom Kha Tom Kha Soup (with mixed vegetables). While I wish there were more bean sprouts considering the extra charge, everything has been delicious! I was particularly appreciative when I called in, mentioned that I could not find parking but will try to figure out, and then they called back offering to bring my order out to me a little ways down the block where I was illegally parked. Initially, the woman said that their staff was all very busy and could not come out so this tiny gesture made a huge impact. Thank you to the Keg & Kraken team for a delicious dinner after a 4+ hour drive to Portland! I will be coming back for sure!

The best Thai place in Portland. The service is fantastic every time. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is the natural brick and rafters which they have accented with modern black light fixtures, unique wall art, and an iconic large clock. The tables often have fresh flowers, candles, and fun centerpieces. The drinks are also garnished with flowers and are tropical and vibrant. It makes me feel as though I’m on vacation. All the food is delicious, hot and fresh. The freshest beef I may have ever eaten was the beef skewers from Keg and Kraken. I’m from Nebraska; I’ve had Omaha steak in Omaha, I have no idea how Keg and Kraken got fresher cuts than that, but the beef was amazing and tender. Both their curry and sushi are excellent choices. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience there.

Overall, this place was Amazing and definitely a place to consider while in Portland.

I have a 5-topic, 10 point breakdown.

Food: The variety and flavor was stunning. I am very particular and my sushi and this sushi was great! They also had amazing noodles that were honestly one of the best I've had. Overall I think food is an easy 9/10. Keep in mind a 10 is a perfect score.

Atmosphere: Keg and Kraken has a very cozy.and soothing vibe and I would go here just to wind down. 8.5/10

Decor: Great theme! Gives you things to interact with and look at, it's an experience and I enjoyed it! 7.5/10 considering that some restaurants are extreme.

Cleanliness: honestly this was great!

Floor: practically spotless! 9.5/10

Cutlery: Not a single bit of anything! 10/10!

Other: I am not kidding you when I say I saw nothing! 10/10

Cleanliness score: If I average it would be so close to a ten so 10/10

Service: To me this is really important, it's one of those things that can either ruin somebody experience or make it 100X better! I have to say this, but the service was the tiniest but slow it ended up being fi e though. Other than that it was a really personal experience, and what I mean by that is they were very friendly and wanted YOU to have the best experience possible! I have an allergy to milk and wanted a bubble tea so they made one without and I liked it so they gave me a free one as we were leaving! Overall this place had amazing service 9.5/10

Overview: I went here 3 days after they opened and it was amazing, truly one of the best restaurants I've been to.

Averaging every thing give you a score of around 9 and dividing that by 2 gives you 4.5 and they just opened so I am going to give it a grand score...

I have nothing but positive things to say about this newly opened restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Portland. My partner and I went for dinner and we both left so happy!

Dozens (or what felt like hundreds at one point) of Thai classics and other Asian dishes -- including sushi -- filled up their extensive food menu, while the drinks menu provided everything from beers to shareable bowls and tiki drinks. We had the Sugary Mai Tai Bowl and it was delicious. It was indeed sugary, but totally doable if you split it with someone.

The spicy Chicken Pad Thai was packed with so many flavors and it definitely had a spicy kick to it. The Massaman Curry was simply amazing -- the rice was cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender, and the different aromas were prevalent. I could go a month just eating those two dishes.

We also had crab rangoons (some of the best I've ever had) and tuna rolls with plenty of spicy mayo.

A meal for two, with the gigantic drink bowl, one app, two sushi rolls, and two BIG entrees came out to around $100 after 20% gratuity.

Service was also great, even though they were quite busy on a...
