Never got served, made to wait 25 minutes to not even get water.
I'm sorry but having worked in the food industry that is not acceptable. My story was this. We come in and there are no signs anywhere, no host, no 'please wait to be seated', and THIS IS A BAR mind you. So we see two booths free to the right, one completely empty, one yet to be bused, and two tables to the left empty. We sit down and wait a few minutes and then have a server come by and say: "Oh well we had a lot of reservations, I don't know if you can be here." We said: "Well we were not sure we did not see a sign and were not sure." The server then says: "Well it may be okay let me check." They then return after about 10 minutes and say: "I think it's okay let me get a towel and wipe some stuff off."
Five minutes later we notice the person go to tables NOT EVEN BEING OCCUPIED and wipe them off. Meanwhile another table comes in and gets served right away. You know honestly to sit 25 minutes at a bar that is only half to 3/4 full and not a huge place to begin with is beyond rude. I kept wondering if I was dressed very poorly as I was wearing jeans and a pullover but my wife reminded me: "this is a bar, not a fine dining establishment." Regardless if you are going to have the kind of service where you can't give a patron water after 25 minutes walking into an establishment where there are free tables you either are wanting them to leave or cannot schedule your time at all. Either way this place is incredibly rude and unprofessional, will never...
Read moreThe wait time was a bit long but it was a Sunday after 12pm, so what do you expect? My Irish Benedict was fantastic! I literally was scraping my fork against the plate to get the last bit of hollandaise. My mother in law ordered her eggs over easy and they were served at over hard. My wife's bacon was burned badly. In fact the bacon at the four other plates at the table was burned badly. I've never seen my daughter refuse bacon before. At this point in the day they had run out of country potatoes (again our fault for being there so late on a brunch day), so all three other eaters had to have a fruit cup which was nice but an odd alternative to country potatoes(they were also out of potato pancakes which my wife tried to order and I went with the Benedict instead of the hash for the same reason). The server was great, very friendly and very attentive. The only off thing was never through the entire meal were we given spoons, and every member of our party ordered coffee with cream. We just kind of stared at each other and dealt with it. Despite a few shortcomings, it is very hard to give any negative stars after that Benedict and overall we were happy...

Now let’s talk about the foodgasm that awaits—this place is a hidden gem for comfort food lovers. The fried chicken dinner was crispy, juicy perfection. The chicken sandwich? Bold, flavorful, and stacked just right. The Reuben was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with just the right balance of tang and richness. And yes, I came back for the chicken and waffles—and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Whether you're there for the food, the drinks, or the craic (that’s Irish for good times), The Leaky Roof delivers a cozy, spirited experience that keeps you coming...
