Quality of products poor/ going downhill and customer service representatives over the phone are very disorganized. Would not recommend for a registry. We did the majority of our wedding registry at Anthro for our wedding in June 2019 (reviewing this store because itās the one we usually shop at when not online) Iāve been a loyal customer for years. After being gifted we needed to return a few items. Two were defective: a ceramic mug set thatās glaze didnāt set right and was sharp/poky on the outside, and a glass coffee canister with a walnut lid that did not seal properly. The other item was a plant hanger that looked much larger when held up in our stairway than we expected. I asked in-store while shopping one day if I could bring in the items to return. They told me itād have to be done by mail since we received the items by mail. I asked in-person to make sure that I would be able to exchange the items and the gift giver would not be notified. They told me of course I would be able to exchange them. Before returning/ mailing in the items I spoke to two separate customer service representatives over the phone to double check that weād be credited and able to exchange the items. They reassured me we would. We paid for shipping boxes and shipping. We sent the items back and then waited the maximum amount of time I had been told the return/ credit would take. When we hadnāt yet received the refund I started to worry they had refunded the gift giverās card or account which again I had been reassured by the customer service reps wouldnāt happen. I called and waited on hold and was told to give it more time to be processed and to call back in a few days. About a week later I called. They tried to tell me to wait for it to be processed. I again explained the situation to them and my worry about it being credited back to the gift giver and the embarrassment it would cause to know we returned their gifts. Once more I was reassured that was not an option and not going to happen and to call back in a few days so they could get it figured out. At this point the situation was causing me anxiety. I just wanted it dealt with for the peace of mind. I was wishing we had never returned them in the first place because it was costing me time, stress, and money. I had my husband call the next time because I thought maybe he could communicate the situation better than I. During his conversation he was informed (and informed me), that they had, after all, refunded the gift giver and the gift giver had already used the money their account was credited. The service rep said we should contact them. I was not comfortable with this. Three more phone calls and re-explaining the situation to customer service representatives/ higher ups, I finally got a call. I told them at this point we only found it fair to be credited for the returns. The worst part about all this trouble is that it was for less then $100 worth of stuff! They finally agreed to credit us the money. Idk...I feel like itās normal for people to change their mind about something on their registry after itās been gifted to them. I wonder how many other people have had to experience this? Iām a little traumatized registering anywhere any more after this experience and most certainly am no longer a die-hard Anthropologie fan. I wasnāt going to leave a review as this experience was over a year ago but I was fueled to do so the other day when I went to put our comforter into our winter duvet cover and one of the corner ties just fell out. I looked closer and noticed the border stitching isnāt done well and the ties are frayed and not even hemmed. The duvet cover had been gifted to us off our registry and was $400. We bought the matching shams separately and now the cover isnāt even usable. I am gentle with linens and wash following instructions. Iād expect a cover of that price to last more than one season. I decided to write this review to inform others of our experience. We donāt think anybody should have to deal with this level of customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually spend a fair amount of money at anthropologie but not after this experiance. I was shopping and than one of my family members called me from the middle east. I continued to shop and try on cloths while talking on the phone in arabic. After 30 min I hung up and started to get funny looks. The employees were by far some of the worst customer service I have ever experianced. Other stores employees try to help you, here they dont want to be bothered. I shrugged it off and collected everything I wanted and started to give the merchandise to the employees to put up at the register. Soon I noticed there was a police officer following me around the store. At this point all the employees were wispering and staring at me. I stood in line and I was so upset. I couldnt believe how racest people are. I had at least $2500 worth of merchandise that i sent up to the register and they thought a petite little middle eastern girl was a tarrorist. I tried to hold my head up high and hold back my tears, i was so embarrised. By the time I got to the register I couldnt hold my tears back anymore so I just put my head down and walked out the store.Ive never been treated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this store and had been coming here for years . Even if I don't have to buy something this place is fun for window shopping or just looking around . The store is huge and is sprawled across two floors and very aesthetically decorated . Whether you're looking for a holiday dress, a gently distressed denim jacket or throws that remind you of your vacation in Morocco last year, or bowls and plates with thoughtful handmade touches, Anthropologie probably has it. They also have a beauty and wellness line in addition to their clothing, home decor, furniture and accessories. The store employees are a good mix of snooty and friendly which is I believe the vibe they are going for . I love the dressing rooms and how thoughtfully they always check up on you and provide alternatives in case sizing or something else doesn't match up . One thing I am sure everyone agrees with is that its an expensive store and sometimes has really obnoxious pieces priced so high. Nevertheless , its always fun coming here and browsing around and admiring the gorgeously...
