A Delightful Lunch Break at Red White and Brew
As a family seeking a pleasant dining experience between soccer games, we couldn't have asked for a better place than Red White and Brew.
From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The attentive and friendly staff ensured that our lunch break was satisfying and memorable. We began our meal with the pesto chicken tortellini – a dish that was nothing short of remarkable. The rich and flavorful pesto sauce perfectly complemented the tender chicken and the delicate, cheese-filled tortellini. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors that had us savoring every morsel. The portion size was generous yet not overwhelming, making it an ideal choice for sharing among family members. Next up was the Caesar salad – a classic done right. The crisp romaine lettuce was dressed with just the right amount of tangy Caesar dressing, resulting in a well-balanced and refreshing salad. The croutons added a pleasant crunch, while the generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese elevated the dish to new heights. It was a salad that managed to be both simple and sophisticated simultaneously. For the children, the chicken strips proved to be a big hit. The tender, juicy chicken was encased in a perfectly seasoned, crispy breading that appealed to both young and old. The accompanying dipping sauce added a delightful kick, making it a dish the children couldn't get enough of. The presentation of the food was impeccable – each dish was carefully plated to showcase its components, turning our lunch into a visual feast as well. The exceptional service further enhanced our experience, with the staff being attentive and accommodating, ensuring our every need was met with a smile. Our lunch at Red White and Brew was a truly delightful experience that we would not soon forget. The delicious food, beautiful presentation, and excellent service made it an ideal dining choice for a busy, soccer-filled day. We wholeheartedly recommend Red White and Brew to anyone looking for a satisfying and...
Read moreNice place for good food. Very busy for a Thursday evening, but I think it's always busy. We were seated promptly, and greeted by Ben (our waiter). We ordered the caprese salad...it was tasty, but the tomatoes were not as ripe as they should be. Balsamic vinaigrette needed to be reduced a bit more. Not sure why they put pickled sweet red bell peppers under the mozzarella. It tasted ok, but if the tomatoes were ripe, then it wouldn't need red bell peppers. Also needs more basil.
I ordered the new york steak with coconut shrimp. My sides were the cooked spinach and mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the pesto chicken pasta.
The steak was great and nicely cooked. It came topped with two onion rings that didn't need to be there. Because the steak was nice and juicy, adding onion rings as a garnish only made the breading soggy which made the onion rings not taste good; didn't need to be there, even as a garnish. The mashed potatoes were delicious; nice and creamy. The cooked spinach was awesome. The spinach was actually my favorite part. Those coconut shrimp were perfect. My meal was two thumbs up.
My wife's pesto chicken pasta was okay. There was so much pesto sauce that it overpowered the entire dish. I mean creamy pesto sauce is good, but I think there was two cups mixed in her dish. It was good, but not great. One thumb up for that dish.
Overall, I rated it 5 stars, should have been 4 stars, but there was more good than bad. I think when tomatoes are in season, it will be a much better caprese. And, next time, I will order the caprese without red bell peppers...they don't belong there.
We will definitely be back. Anxious to try some other goodies. Thank you, Ben, for the...
Read moreThis is one of only two restaurants we found in Prescott that served good food at reasonable prices. During our repeated visits here, the serving staff, management, and chef all went above-and-beyond to make our experience tasty and fun. We felt exceptionally well cared for, which is a stark contrast to a number of other restaurants in the area. And the American style fare, which we really enjoyed, was usually plentiful enough to provide leftovers for another meal. This is another contrast to most Prescott restaurants, where the rule seems to be “serve less and charge more.”
Our favorite dishes were the side of spinach, the chicken-and-kale ravioli, the liver-and-onions, the caprese platter, and the chicken RWB. We would also say the Caesar salad with salmon on top is particularly yummy, but on our last visit my wife got sick from this particular combo – which is one reason RWB is getting three stars instead of four. The other reason for three stars is that my mussels-in-wine appetizer, although flavorful, had mussels that were so rubbery they were mostly inedible…and I think for $19 the mussels should at least be edible! Otherwise, RWB is a favorite for us in Prescott, and definitely worthy of four stars in most respects.
The bar is also a fun place to hang out, and the bartenders likewise always tried to make a really decent version of whatever drink we asked for – even if they’d never heard of it before. And, lastly, RWB is the only restaurant downtown that has its own parking lot, which is a...
