I've been meaning to post this review for a while; my Fiancé and I have been coming here since 2016 and we love this place. We make day trips from Phoenix just to come here, split a flight, and walk around Prescott slightly tipsy until we sober up and it's time to go home. (Tip: Make sure you split the flight, so you can try some other meads they have and make sure to pace yourself! Mead has a high alcohol percentage.) I habitually order delivery right from their website, and we know all of the stores that carry Superstition in our area. To say we are long-term fans is an understatement.
Last time we went here in August, we were also shown how much Superstition loves its customers. For those of you who are new to the Meadery, you may or may not have heard whispers about Super Bee. Super Bee was a small-batch mead made from copious amounts of the rare Ironwood honey, and it was absolutely delicious. Since my Fiancé and I first had it, and they ran out, we've been looking for it & waxing poetic about it ever since. Especially because our wedding is coming up, and we wanted to celebrate with some.
We always asked if Superstition had any in stock and last time we were there Trevor went into the back, checked all of the crevices, and found 1 bottle! The last bottle of Super Bee. We were absolutely delighted. As it was the last bottle, they called the owner, got a price for it, and we bought it! We're still ecstatic that we have it, and it's a bright spot in what has otherwise been a nightmare of a year for wedding planning.
Huge shoutout to Trevor and Jade! Trevor went above and beyond to help us find the bottle, and Jade was absolutely lovely throughout the process as well. They made our weekend, and while we have always been long-term fans, they really made us feel appreciated and that Superstition really takes care of its customers. Thank you so much,...
Read moreFeeling pretty stupid after purchasing a bottle here today. I’ve been a fan of this place for close to a decade, and I haven’t been for a while, because ya know, times have been tough and everything is super expensive. I just had a baby so I’ve had to cut out a lot of luxuries.
That being said I was excited to revisit one of my favorite spots today. I was surprised at the price increase, but I still bought one thinking maybe I’ve been priced out of mead (so much for mead being for everyone), but at least I can enjoy this one last bottle…
Out of curiosity, I searched the mead I purchased and it looks like I spent way more to purchase the bottle directly from Superstition. I might as well have bought it somewhere else I guess. Not only that, but it’s listed cheaper on their website and all the meads are available elsewhere at lower prices across the board…
I’ve always had great service at the Phoenix location but it was definitely lacking in the Prescott taproom today. I felt very rushed and the bartender couldn’t have cared less to discuss the new meads or help me navigate the menu or choose a bottle. Not even sure what her name was so I couldn’t help you there. All that, paired with the ripoff price, I’ll probably skip the visit the next time I’m up north.
I’ve evangelized Superstition to everyone I know for a long time now but this feels pretty scummy and left me feeling pretty dumb for getting ripped off. Now this bottle is leaving a sour taste...
Read moreAll of us have been coming to this location since they had opened up years ago. We have never had any issues with product or with being treated in a respectful kind way. A more recent visit change that view for us. We were treated in a disrespectful way by a few of the younger girls working at this location...... They were extremely rude and each individual in our group felt the same way from what they had seen. We spend a lot of money here on a regular basis. But if these girls are allowed to mistreat the customers which we have been told about this from other friends of ours but never experienced it until recently then we will simply not come back. It is a sad decision but we feel that some of the current employees that you have are not quality employees and have attitude problems. We are not going to be back maybe in the very distant future when they are no longer working there but not anytime soon. We are only posting this review for the public to see so that others if they have also experienced the same issues then maybe they could also reach out or post it on the reviews so that the owner will know that there is a real problem with some of the staff working at...
