When I first heard about a new Filipino place in Provo I was excited, I love trying out and support new Asian places around this area, so I took my wife and one of my friends. My experience however did not align with my excitement.
I came in looking at the menu and saw that combo 3 was over $17 dollars, which I thought was a bit expensive but I didn't care too much because there are other restaurants that are of that price and figured I was going to get a lot of food out of it. I first picked the pink coconut curry(I can't remember the name of the dish) and the helper barely gave me a full scoop, the wooden bowl was barely 1/4 filled, next I picked the small red sausages and she only gave me 3(they were barely 1 inch long), and lastely I picked chicken adobo and tragically got barely 4 pieces of small chicken leaving the bowl looking pitifully empty. My wife and friend all experienced the same thing.
I wish I had pictures to show proof however I didn't because I never plan to write this review. After eating, the food was tastey and flavorful to give them the credit but still left feeling hungry which is a big sign that I won't ever come back to this place again(however still not warrant enough to write a review about this place).
What really made me write the review was that same night my wife and I both has insanely terrible and painful bowel movements, me having the worst of it needing to wake up several times and even experiencing it the next day. My friend that I brought along experienced the same thing along with throwing up multiple times.
TLDR; Getting a combo 3 is over $17, and the portions they gave us were barely enough to fill a kid, and after that all three of us got food poisoning leading to painful experiences all night and even into...

They had over 10+ dishes to choose from, and my mouth couldn't stop watering. They had: chicken and pork adobo, laing, bicol express, beef caldereta, sinigang, chicken tinola, fried lumpia, corned beef, pancit, bistek, munggo, I couldn't name all of them. I was just so excited for all the variety they had! I tried quite a few, and I felt like a kid in a candy store....I'll have to keep coming back to try the rest.
Favorites: Chicken adobo, pancit, Bikol express, and bistek. Pancit tasted just like home, Bicol Express had great flavor (I had cut-up chili added on mine as I like mine with a bit of spice!) and their bistek was super soft and flavorful. Their lumpia was a BIG hit with the kiddos - we had to keep ordering more and more because we kept running out!
Their Halo-Halo was ON POINT! Mine just had the crushed ice, milk, Ube ice cream, and flan slice on top. It was SOO GOOD that I was halfway home and I asked myself, "Why didn't I get 2 of these?!"
Met the nicest people - Billie and Chat, they made you feel right at home and explained what some of the dishes' ingredients. Can't wait...
Read moreThe Bicol has a delicious, coconut sweet flavor with hints of vanilla and peanut, one of the most unique and novel things I've tasted recently.
The pork Adobo comes to mind too as a great dish with a bit of acid and spices, and incredible rendered fat caps on some pieces that melt as you chew and conduct the flavor everywhere.
Third, there is one like beef stew, but more tender than any beef you've had in a stew. The sauce is thick and rich with a little spice and goes really well soaking into the rice.
Last, the chicken curry is safe bet for the less adventurous. No spices to make your face sweat and an even handed buttery and curry taste to it. Unoffensive, comforting, and universally palatable.
My biggest question is next time I go, should I get the same things because they were wonderful, or try a completely new set?
Excellent restaurant, looking forward to going with more friends.
Just as good years later, more of a lively place now with karaoke and such if you are looking for an upbeat atmosphere, may not always be ideal for a quiet night, but the food...
