I wish you could do separate ratings for food and service because the food I would give a 4 and the service a zero. Let me set the scene for you. My girlfriend and I are new to raleigh and were told by locals to come here for great mexican food. We were in a rush for a wedding and asked the server if they do to go orders and if we could get it in 20 minutes if we place our orders now. They said yes just sit at the bar and place your order. It was 3 pm so it was very slow and not much of a crowd. We asked the bartender for some menus she ignored us and continued to serve a few drunks for about 10 minutes before we even got our menus. We placed our orders and let her know we are in a hurry if she could please tell them to rush it. Flash forward 20 minutes later we asked if the food was almost done she said she doesn't know and there's nothing she could do about it very rudely. Needless to say her tip had just left the building. She soon went to check and said it was being boxed. 10 more minutes pass and we eventually ask the manager if he could check. He seemed to not know what was going on at all or where anything in his restaurant was. He told us our food was being boxed up and ready now. He eventually gives us our food and tells us enjoy your wedding. No apology given by him or the lousy bartender or money off our check. So what was promised to be less than 20 minutes took nearly an hour. The food was very good and it's a shame because we would come back if the service was not so piss poor. Hopefully management reads this and takes action because other customers could see we were frustrated and said they felt the same way. Someone call Jon tapper...
Read moreThe waiter was good for being new. The issue was the music was messing up and giving an awful headache. No one even tried to fix it until my husband said something about it. The other thing that was wrong which is worse, was that there was a long piece of hair in my water glass. I didn't see it until I was all done drinking it and it was stuck to the inside of the water glass. That was totally disgusting! Makes me want to question if there was anything in my food. This is the worst experience that I have ever had at this location.
I came back to give this place another chance 8 months later, which was a huge mistake. This time, the table was dirty and I had to clean the table myself. When we got our food, the 5 of us opened our silverware package and 4 of us had food still on the "sanitary" silverware. Then, I sucked up a seed through my straw when I didn't even have lemon in my water. I called for the manager and he came over and said that he would comp my bill but didn't let us know that it was taken care of. I had to go hunt someone down to see if it was "taken care of". So, I will be checking my credit card to make sure it actually was taken care of since I have nothing saying that they refunded it. My bill only consisted of mine and my husband's meal. From now on, we will be going to the location in Cary.
I checked my credit card and like I expected, my bill was not refunded. Way to go!!!! This Chuy's is the worst one in NC, i would recommend going anywhere else but...
Read moreI’d like to start by saying, my husband and I love Chuy’s. It’s one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants and we have eaten at quite a few locations in different states. This was the worst location we have been to. If it had been the first Chuy’s location I’d ever tried, I would never try another one. Our waiter was not friendly at all which is not great, but the real issue was our food. When it arrived at our table, it was totally cold. The cheese was not even melted in my cheese enchilada and the chili sauce on top was not only cold, but seemed rancid. I believe this may be the first Mexican restaurant I have ever been to that the server didn’t warn me that my plate was hot…there was certainly no need for that! I don’t believe we were the only ones with cold plates because I noticed none of the servers were using any type of oven mitts to carry the other customers’ plates. I’d like to add that my taco was the skimpiest one I’ve ever gotten at Chuy’s. And the overall appearance of my food was not what I’ve come to expect from a Chuy’s restaurant. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the salsa, creamy jalapeño dip and queso were as good as expected…even though we had to nearly beg for enough chips to finish our order of queso. My husband and I had driven over an hour to try this location and were really disappointed. Sadly, we’ll have to find another restaurant in this area to satisfy our...
