my friends and I made a reservation at 7:45, we got there within the five minute time frame. we were seated at a table right by the door after they had moved a family from that very table to the back. this table by the door was covered by a curtain and was not easily visible to anyone. my friends and i did not mind this initially as we felt we had our own private space. however, nearly 20 minutes passed since we had first sat down and we had not been given water or been welcomed by any staff. only after we had asked the hostess for a server she said she had let them know and they were on their way. we ordered a salad for appetizer, drinks, two burgers (one with fries and one with onion rings) and the steak frites (switching the fries for mashed potatoes). when our salad was brought out we had to ask for sharing plates again (after initially asking for it when we ordered). we understood that it was a busy saturday but felt we were purposely placed in a difficult area as later on we would be forgotten about. our food came out and the steak seemed to be a smaller portion than usual, but there was no green beans. which for $30 just getting a steak the size of a palm and a mound of mashed potatoes did not seem worth it. the burger with the fries was brought out with onion rings (that we had later realized was charged after we had paid). we told them we ordered fries not onion rings and asked about the green beans. the runner who brought out our food seemed visibly annoyed with us, and said it was her first week. we were assured that it would be fixed. nearly thirty to forty minutes later we were checked on (at this point my friend had finished her burger) and i nearly done with my steak. our waitress forgot about the green beans and fries. we were understanding as it is a busy saturday and politely asked for it to be brought out anyway. this experience sort of ruined part of our night. we were not compensated for the mistakes made or the late service (or lack there of). instead we were overcharged for onion rings we did not order. we are normally very good tippers as some of us work in the restaurant industry and like to give back, this is the first time we tipped under 20%. we have been here multiple times and truly enjoyed our experiences previously. however after our latest dinner, we collectively decided we will not be returning anytime soon, especially on a saturday dinner when they are clearly lacking man-power to properly cover all tables. this establishment seemed to focus more on their bar and music entertainment rather than the customers and their experiences dining. additionally after reading some other reviews it seems there is an obvious problem with seating tables and letting them go for about 20 minutes with no water or welcome service. and that tables who were brought it after others were served first. seems as though the staff picks and chooses who to dedicate their time and effort to. if you are not chosen you will end up waiting...
Read moreWe hosted a surprise 60th birthday party this past weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the first call to set it up to the moment we walked out the door, the staff made sure it was such a great experience. The people who work there are so attentive and kind. The managers Bryan and Kelly were so helpful in planning our party and Ivan is a rockstar. He took care of our party of 20 and made sure we had everything we needed. We never had to look for him, he was always checking on us and providing excellent service. He truly is so great at what he does. We had a sit down lunch in their cottage room which was so nicely decorated. the space was perfect. We felt like we were in our own restaurant. It was cozy but spacious and they were so accommodating with how we wanted it set up. We were able to bring balloons and decorations and the staff even helped us set up. They had a curtain up in the doorway so we were able to really surprise the guest of honor. Our lunch was delicious. We chose to do the seated option with 3 shareable apps and we picked a menu of 4 main meals from their party menu. Most of us ordered the shepherds pie and it was some of the best we had ever had. The presentation was cute. It came in a skillet which was served on a board with Irish soda bread. It was so delicious. The show stopper was the shareable Irish egg rolls. We couldn’t stop talking about them. The drinks were really good and the bar staff was really attentive to the party. The kids ordered from the long kids menu and they really enjoyed theirs as well. The pricing was very reasonable and worth every penny. We were able to bring our own cake and they cut it up and served it for us which was so nice. I can’t thank them enough for how special they made this experience. Everyone in our party had such an amazing time. The staff here are incredible. I would absolutely consider them for...
Read moreMy recent visit to The Shannon Rose Irish Pub was marred by an unfortunate interaction with one of the staff members, Nico. I was looking forward to a pleasant dining experience, but what transpired left me quite disheartened.
Upon asking Nico a few standard questions about the menu and pricing, his responses were unexpectedly condescending. Nico mockingly inquired if our concerns about prices stemmed from a lack of funds, which we found highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Working in the service industry ourselves, we understand the importance of respect and kindness towards customers, and we expressed our discomfort with his demeanor. Rather than adjusting his approach, Nico escalated the situation by calling over other bartenders to sarcastically applaud us for being bartenders, further adding to our discomfort.
The more taken aback we were by his behavior, the more he seemed to double down on his unprofessionalism. When asked for his name, he confidently replied, "Nico," and even went so far as to dare us to write a review about the encounter, seemingly indifferent to the implications of his actions on his employment or the reputation of The Shannon Rose Irish Pub.
I want to clarify that our intention is not to seek retribution or Nico's termination. We all have off days, and perhaps this was one for him. However, the audacity to bait customers into leaving a review following such an experience compels me to share this feedback. It's crucial for the management to be aware of how staff interactions can significantly impact the dining experience and the...
