This restaurant is an absolute disgustingly hot mess!!!! The guacamole is brown and old, the rice is over cooked and just sitting in its dryness, the pregnant female and guy with the ponytail (pink scrunchie and tight jeans) and tattoos are sitting at the FIRST table in front of entrance door socializing, eating and watching videos on their phones while the pregnant chick lifts up her shirt to show her belly to the guy she's sitting with, there is cheese, pico de gallo, beans, and debris scattered all over the food area, allllllll the mean is at the bottom of each container, dried out, old, crusted over.... and apparently Ryan just got to work so he and the tortilla preparation lady are the only two working. He apologized for the food presentation and has been filling containers and moving since we arrived. As we continue to sit here eating, the guy with a ponytail and pink scrunchy is on his phone behind the counter and playing with trades while dancing to the music being played in the store, the pregnant lady is walking around chatting it up with everybody and the white guy preparing chicken is having inappropriate conversations about discrimination and other subjects that customers do not need to hear your employees talking about while on duty. The floors are filthy, the horchata is made like sweet milk with no flavor. The Health Departmeny already gave them a "B", but apparently they seem to be aiming for a "D"or an "F"...
Read moreThis was the FIRST TIME that we tried Cafe Rio, and is probably the LAST! I was not impressed at all with the Customer Service! Unfortunately the food was Decent Tasting, hence the 2âs. The food prep server was less than enthused to have to describe what the different options were and the cashier was noticeably annoyed that we could tell her exactly what we had ordered. Again, this was our FIRST visit! She even snapped, "Next time you'll know to remember!" The Steam Table and Frige Top that they sever off of was DISGUSTING!! They had a person using a rag to wipe dripping and dropped ingredients in between the drop in containers away, but it was just falling into the clean food. There was absolutely no concern for Cross Contamination! The server changed out the pico de gallo in front of us, pulling out the old container and dropping in the new. Then poured the remaining pico on top, in doing so, over filled it and pico all up the side of the dirty wall of the service area. My Suggestions to Cafe Rio: If your gonna be so sloppy, maybe dont have a glass guard to show this barbaric process! And have a marker to write what each meal is on the side of the containers or lids, so we dont get scolded by the cashier! Like I said, the food was Decent, every other aspect was NOT...
Read moreUpdate: I regretfully went back. Once again, suffered through horrendous service. What's happening behind the scenes that either the employees are not trained, happy, paid???? Why are they so miserable? Why are they still working there if they hate being there. Hello, your wage is coming from my purchase. But seriously, this has to be a management issue. These people can't be that miserable if the management was taking care of them.
What is the deal with this Cafe Rio?! They started off so amazingly and have rapidly declined. They absolutely can not have an order ready when ordered online. Learned that lesson 3x's. The good is so good though! So I go again but order inside. Trying to avoid any frustrations. Up to order, I'll take a steak salad. Nope. They don't have any steak. I didn't even see them cooking any! I order chicken instead and I'm instantly the worst customer ever. I was thanking them. No thanks coming from them. Move on. Next! One staff member was shoving some jack in the box milkshake in to the girl's face that was running the register. Foods great! Love the concept. Service here use to be amazing. What's happening?!?! Please fix this so I don't have to crave cafe Rio but cringe having to deal with...
