I had an unfortunate experience the night we went. It had been raining so I imagine that wasn't fun for the staff. When we showed up, there was a couple seated outside so I went inside to make sure they were still accepting customers (because of the rain, I thought maybe they weren't). I spoke to a woman (turned out to be the manager) who was rude and said she would be with me shortly and I asked her if they were still seating customers and she said no. It was barely 5:30 and I didn't believe her. I asked another employee and I was informed that they WERE seating customers. So I sat in the car and sent my companion in to get a seat. Once they were seated, I joined. I dislike the fact that I was lied to. This is why I'm leaving 2 stars (it could have been 5)! On a positive note, the food was wonderful! I had the tomato bisque and even though it was cold out, the soup stayed warmed! The turkey salad sandwich was great! Our server was very nice and we enjoyed our dining experience. I had been looking forward to that evening for a couple of days and it was almost ruined by that lying employee. I'm glad I decided to stay. I think she was caught off guard when she realized I was still there. Perhaps she was having a bad day or maybe she doesn't like the rain. I know I would have been miserable if I had to work in the rain, but not to a point of lying to someone and treating them disrespectfully. We've been trying to eat at different places to do our part at helping the economy and that night it was very cold out, dark, and wet. There was no reason for her to have lied to me. I hope the next time I visit, it will be a...
Read moreOur family had 5pm reservations on May 7th for 8 people,we went there to celebrate Mother's day as half of our party are Mom's and it was easier for all to get together on Saturday instead of Sunday.. Our Server Meghan seemed very flustered, she kept getting everything we ordered mixed up, from the drinks, she doesn't know what soft drinks are available, your menu states Breakfast is Served all day, the Smoked Salmon Benedict sounded delicious, but I'll have to return another day to try it since "Breakfast All Day" doesn't include any Eggs Benedict dishes, another thing the Server didn't know... she came back and let me know after the fact, and I had to make another selection of the menu, so I ordered the Rib-Eye medium rare, it was horrible, very thin, over cooked, I've ordered $12.00 Steak and Eggs Breakfast at Norm's Restaurant and had a more delicious steak..., now for dessert we ordered 3 Creme Brulotte's and 1 Bread pudding, they arrived in reverse, 1 Brulotte, 3 puddings, I ordered the Flan, and guess who came back to the table and advised you were "OUT" of Flan, and that I needed to make another selection.... it's really unfortunate that the back of the house is not sharing unavailable menu items with the front of the house, and the fact that you're short staffed doesn't get mentioned to your customers until they complain... When we were seated is when being short staffed, and what possible choices that we may pick from the menu won't be available and apologize then... I've worked in Customer Service over 40 years, and this experience at Mimi's Restaurant was by far the...
Read morePoor service at this location. Will not return. After being seated, my wife and I noticed others being served who came in after us. Eventually, the waitress came and took our drink order. I ordered a Peach Mimosa, as I cannot medically drink orange juice. My wife's hot tea came out quick enough, but my drink took 20 to 30 minutes. When the waitress brought it out, I asked what kind of juice was in the glass, as it looked sort of pulpish. She said it was Peach, but it also had orange juice in it. I informed her that I cannot drink orange juice and she said they all had orange juice except the one with cranberry juice. I said good, bring me that. Then some lady comes out from the back says she's the waitress' boss and all of the mimosas have orange juice in them. I informed her that this fact was not indicated on the menu from which I ordered. She said she didn't know what the menu said but it's an industry secret that orange juice is used in all flavors of mimosas. I could see that this wasn't going well, especially after she said I was insulting her and she wasn't going to let me shout at her and her waitress (I shouted at no one). I told her to walk away from my table, then. And bring me the one the waitress said she would bring. She came back with a glass of what looked like cranberry juice, but I told her to take it back. How do I know she didn't spit in it? As argumentuve and indignant as she was, I didn't trust her. Of course, the waitress got no tip. This location sucks. The manager is unprofessional, rude and has no people skills. The waitress...
