What did I like about it? The servers were friendly and the restaurant was clean.
What did I hate? The food was horrible. I went there based on a recommendation from someone I'd just met - if I see him again I'll tell him he owes me money! ;)
The first clue it wasn't going to be good was the smell - it smelled very fishy and it shouldn't have. As I said the restaurant looks very clean so that means the fish is old.
I had shrimp with cajun sauce, medium spice. The shrimp had zero flavor and had the texture of an eraser. The sauce was so thick it was like barbecue sauce, and it was way too spicy. Make you cough spicy (and I eat spicy Indian food). My dinner partner had the green mussels in garlic butter which seemed to be the same sauce with some garlic butter added. I ate a mussel and it did have some flavor but it was overwhelmed by sauce and overcooking.
And the food is not inezpensive. I ordered the shrimp because I didn't want to make too expensive of a mistake. As I was eating I thought of young people paying these prices for this terrible food? Maybe they are all making great money but if not you can get much better quality food for the same price.
I felt bad for the servers - they were friendly and helpful but how can they make money? The place was empty.
The decor is terrible. But there are lots of tvs if you need to watch tv while you eat
They need to take down the fish and anchors etc, and start serving fresh food with lighter sauces. The owner should go check out Killer Shrimp's peel...
Read moreHonestly, I'm not sure what even happened. I was super disappointed I couldn't get Ramen so I went a few doors down to here. My order was 1 lb of headless shrimp with all the seasonings, add corn, and garlic bread.
So I got my shrimp and it tasted Spicer than I though considering I got the lowest amount of spicy. Potatoes instead of corn. Okay no big deal I'll eat it. Stuff happens! The food was good so far and was pretty happy. Although the walls by the window were super dirty...that was a bit creepy but just ignored it.
Until the check came. Apparently he gave me 2lb of shrimp (it explains why I couldn't finish it all). Which of course took my 20 dollar bill to now 40 something. I was honestly pretty mad but kinda shrugged it off. As we were leaving my husband told me the same thing happened to the previous party where they had to run to their car for more money to cover the bill! If I'd known that I would have said something.
Either way, for my order the error was costly. Costly enough I won't recommend this place nor will I visit again. It was loud. I spoke clearly. And I'm not going to dispute food after it has been eaten unless there is other reasons. Wish I had spoke up...
Read moreThe standards have dropped since the last time I was here. We had to ask for gloves and they had to "see if they had any." You get scissors, but no shell crackers or utensils like other places.
Walked in with my family (6 adults, a 12yo, and a 4 month old) and asked for a table for 8 to have space for the stroller. The waitress came to let us know about the automatic 18% gratuity for 8 people or more. My reply was, "yeah we know, but the baby isn't eating." 🤦♀️ Yes, we technically, had 8 people, but you're not seriously counting the bottle drinker are you? 🤣🤣🤣
The atmosphere is more like party or bar-like with the music way too loud. Great for 20-30 year olds, OR the deaf. My brother-in-law would have liked the vibrations from the music if he was with us. If you value your ear drums, and eat slow, you'll want to find another place.
The food was ok, not the best, and the prices are a bit excessive. My family loves king crabs legs. We spent almost $800 for 4 appetizers, the king claw bucket with extra potatoes, sausages, and corn plus 5 or 6 extra orders of king crab legs and 1 mixed drink. Since this opened, we been here about once every 2-5yrs...
