I read somewhere online that this was an authentic Mexican food establishment. I love Mexican food but don't they devein shrimp down in Mexico before they eat it? I don't know why I didn't take a picture of my shrimp when they brought it to me! I probably didn't think about it because I was too disgusted and shocked by the "sand vein" AKA digestive track CLEARLY visible down the middle of every single 6 butterfly shrimp on my plate! They were all facing "poo-poo" side up so I had a feeling that this was the norm at that restaurant. That's why I didn't mention it to the waiter. I didn't want to look/feel like an idiot by going to an authentic Mexican restaurant and then complaining about their authenticity. So, if you have no problem eating authentic Mexican food that may include excrement, this is the place for you 😊 Not one to be a spoilsport, I deveined each one myself and proceeded to dig in. Millions of people all over the world eat deveined shrimp so I can at least devein it myself and eat the remainder of the meal that had been so graciously served to me. It was decent. I would give it a 5 out of 10. I had the garlic grilled shrimp with rice and beans. The shrimp was incredibly dry and overcooked but the flavor was decent. However, I probably won't go back again only for the simple fact that if they don't devein their shrimp then what else do they do in the kitchen that I'm not seeing. Service staff was good though. All this visit really did for me was prove my point that the best Mexican restaurant in ANY town is the little hole-in-the-wall down...
Read moreService for getting orders and getting our meal was slow for big parties. Took very long to get our bills then to have them pick them up. The food was mostly warm not hot due to them waiting for all of the food to be ready so it could be served than serving as it was ready. Wet burritos were bigger than a normal burritos and more filling. Normally burritos came wrapped up in paper and not hot. Was given a pinch of of a sad excuse of a salad. Nothing even close to a handful. Two colored chips to go on the side of the wrapped in paper burrito. The chips were not tasty and felt too burnt and needed a lot of salt to even taste normal. My family arrived at 6pm and ended up waiting so long for them that we left at 9pm. When we arrived at different times, we had to share 5 menus for a party of 13 people because they did not give us more menus. When someone asked for a waiter in a question or assistance through raising a hand or asking verbally while making eye contact with them, they were completely ignored. Some of the workers were all huddled into one area and were talking by a register and let one server so all of the work and didn't bother helping him or other guests. The only good thing was they kept serving their stupid disgusting chips and getting more drinks for us but that was the only good thing. I did not have a good time there in the graduation celebration because of how poor the service was. If I could rate this, I would give it 0 stars because of how terrible it was. I will not ever...
Read moreI only come here for the taco Tuesday experience, and this Tuesday wasn't any different. We were greeted upon arrival and seated almost immediately. Mind you though, we made it just before 5pm so we knew the rush hour was soon approaching.
Our waiter came over right away and took our drink orders. He recognized us from before, so he asked if we were ready to order. My wife ordered her (3) tacos for $5 and I ordered (6). My son got a side of beans and rice.
I went up to order my tacos and saw the taco lady being really nice to a couple of regulars that walked in. When it was my turn and I kindly asked for tacos, I was getting a really grumpy vibe from the lady. I didn’t think much of it, but when she gave me a dirty look for asking for (1) plate instead of (2), her smirky remark was, “you want them stacked on top of each other?” No biggie maybe I’m over reacting. It was my wife’s turn to get tacos, since we didn’t want to leave our kid alone at the table.
When my wife comes back from getting her tacos, without me mentioning anything, my wife got the same grumpy impression from her. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one.
The food was delicious, but a more customer friendly, non-selective taco server would have made the experience that more personable. I miss the old taco guy, he was super cool and made you feel like you were at a...
