Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Rapid City

Updated review: We have decided to give this place another chance. I after going in there as a dasher, I'm not sure if this is a new owner or what but there are a bunch of new employees that are extremely professional and are very fast on orders. This change has definitely maybe me and others very happy as I have asked people. Have to rate this a 4 star because of the jump back to a more fun and pleasurable experience!

Old review: We normally love this place but the last few times we have been there have been horrible. I stood in line for over 20 minutes when there was 4 employees working and myself and another couple were standing waiting. Finally after that they decided to get on the register to help the family in front of me. The guy on the register didn't know what to do when ordering so he had to ask the girls but they didn't help him and prioritized the food and left him and another to do all the in house smoothies( mind you there is like 5 customers in the store) and a total of 33 minutes of wait to order and getting my 2 smoothies and leaving is a pretty big deal for a place so small with no one inside and 4 workers... Second and last chance I will give this location. Today we called to have a over the phone order and my wife called and before finishing talking the employee hung up on her.her name is tia after my wife asked when walking in the store. My boyfriend and I arrived at about 7:55 and were unsure about if they closed early or not (it was Monday and no one was there). We actually walked in and greeted the girl first and asked what time they closed and she said 9. So we get up to the register and the girl already looks annoyed. She doesn’t ask us what we want to order and is just staring at us. We order 2 smoothies and since it was later in the night, we felt bad and gave her a $5 tip. She didn’t say thank you or anything else to us after we ordered. She makes the smoothies and sets them down in front of us and just walks away. Greetings and just simple customer service makes a huge impression on people. At least fake it...

Looove!! Love this place!!! :)

Over a year ago, it used to be an all female crew, and sadly it was a total mess!! I stopped going for almost a year due to that. But then one day I was in the area, I thought, let me give it another try and OMG!! I'm back since I learned about this new amazing crew!!!

Now it's an all men crew!! They are super nice and polite!! They never give you a hard time and they are excellent at what they do!! The store and bathrooms are clean, and it's pleasant to be there, sit, relax and enjoy!!

Both locations have super nice employees, and they both ARE Amazing!!!
