Bluewater Poke — Restaurant in Redlands

I’ve been coming to Bluewater Poke for a couple of years now, and I don’t want to speak negatively about the place. However, I’ve noticed some changes since the new ownership took over, and unfortunately, they haven’t been for the better. The protein options, sauces, and even the mix-ins have all changed, and as someone who appreciates consistency when they find a good poke spot, it’s been a bit disappointing.

I’ve been there before, and I noticed that the Hawaiian Salmon and Tuna were almost like a puree. I remember it being mentioned that you were trying out a new machine at the time. Also, the Mango Habanero sauce didn’t quite work for me— the garlic and coconut flavors didn’t come together as nicely as I hoped. Personally, I think the type of onions makes a big difference. I absolutely love this place! If you like sushi I'm sure you'll enjoy Blue Water Poke. They're consistent and delicious. I am usually here once a week to have lunch. It's just that good. There's so many options to choose from but it's not overwhelming. You choose a desired size bowl, which determines how many proteins you can have (you can also add more for a fee). You choose your base, what proteins you want, add/mix-ins, choice of sauces from light to heavy, and toppings if desired. There's also a selection of drinks as well. It's prepared right in front of you and it's not much of a wait to complete a bowl if there's no line. If there is a line the longest I've waited was 15 minutes max. If I could give this place no stars, I would! I was there to pick up an order. I announced myself and gave the name of the customer. The female employee said it would be ready shortly. She began to make the order but paused to make several orders in between. During this time, I politely made her aware that there was an insect flying over, near, and landing on ingredients. I guess that was offensive to her. After 20 minutes of waiting, the order was ready and the female stated she would NOT be handing the order over to me unless I marked the order picked up prior to her releasing the order to me. I WAITED 20 MINUTES......... I explained the process but she refused to give me the order and told me to cancel. Clearly this woman has an issue with brown people. I will never recommend, nor eat at this...
