I placed a $50+ order on the app at around 8:30 pm. When we were preparing to leave and pick up our order, my wife noticed her ATM card was missing. We took some time looking for it, but I realized if we devoted any more time to the endeavor we wouldn't make it to the store on time, as we were walking. I hastily grabbed my jacket and walked at a brisk pace to the McDonald's I had selected for the order.
To my dismay, the lobby doors were already locked and the app was telling me my only option was the drive thru. In a last ditch effort to save dinner, I rang the makeshift doorbell fastened to the side door. The manager, who had just finished eating, signaled for me to be patient and assisted his employees in completing the orders that were coming in from the drive-thru.
An associate named Chris shuffled over to the door where I was standing and looked at me expectantly. I explained my situation to him and asked him if he'd be willing to help me and my family out. Wordlessly, Chris shuffled away back over to the manager, who looked over at me briefly and nodded. In his slow, shuffling pace, Chris went to the register and made his way back over to me.
"You owe $46.06", he said in a dry monotone voice. I gave him my debit card, which he ran promptly and returned to me with my receipt and told me my order would be up in a few minutes. Turned around and locked the door behind him. I waited about 10 minutes before the manager brought a large bag with my order in it. He smiled and bid me have a good night. When I thanked him, he told me "Thank Chris, it was his idea and he took the time to make it up for you. Otherwise I don't know how long I might have had you waiting here."
It just goes to show that just because some people aren't manic with a smile on their faces or a spring in their step, it doesn't mean that they aren't compassionate or willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I would have never guessed that that kid made the call to help me and then went out of his way to complete my order so it got done right. And it did get done right. We had custom burgers and sauce orders and fries and shakes. All of them perfect. Thanks Chris, you made my and my...
Read moreIf you clowns are so concerned about the smell of the "homeless" , then, use the Drive Thru & eat wherever you care to. As for any McDonalds these days, franchise ownership has defeated the very concept which used to be part of MCDs. ** Walk into any McDonalds these days & you can't know what to expect from cheapskate franchise owners & the manner in which they run their restaurants. Better yet..... find another fast food chain. (If this McDonalds is an exception to the lousy service offered by part-time employees, so be it. Just realize that good service is nearly impossible to find in most McDonalds today. So is "fair pricing" of menu items. And, btw, why doesn't McDonalds offer a Senior discount ? [ other than an expensive senior ☕, that is ]) One other thing: MCDs corporation, headquartered in Chicago, has created this franchise ownership to be as prevalent as it is for one primary reason....
Just a regular McDonald's. However, this particular restaurant's dining area is always filthy (reason for only 2 stars). There is food and trash on the floor and the tables. The soda bar has spills everywhere, so watch where you put you food bag. The outside also has trash scattered about. You may encounter a number of homeless people both inside and outside of the restaurant, so you might find the drive thru preferable. Make sure to double check your order and change before you pull away from the window. Always ask for your receipt to stop them from charging you more and pocketing the difference. Yes, it does happen. I had this actually happen here. They said the receipt machine was broken, ah no... They have many ways to print a receipt and can move printers between registers. The price they asked me to pay at the window was more than the price at the order screen. I proved to them because I took a picture of the order total. They tried to back peddle and say they were mistakenly quoting me the wrong order. It was $1.50 more and initially they tried to say it was tax that the order display didn't show, Nice try... Imagine how many people go through the drive thru and a $1 here and there can add up quickly. I tried to complain to the manager but I think she was in on the scam.
Most of their food is pre-salted, then they salt it again before cooking it. The result is your food getting severely over salted. Just ask for no salt when ordering your food (burgers, fries, etc...) Asking for no salt also guarantees that your food is made fresh, especially the french fries. You can ask for a packet of salt to add to the fries yourself. I put the fries in a bag and add the salt, then I shake the closed bag to distribute the salt. Your taste buds and blood pressure will...
