My wife and I stopped in here after shopping @ Freddy's on a Thursday late morning. We were greeted by a friendly, smiling older gentleman immediately, whom took down our name. We waited for about 5 minutes to get a table for 2, and then were greeted by a server right away as well. She went to the restroom, and reported that they were clean and fresh smelling. She ordered one of the 5 specials, the strawberry stuffed french toast, and i ordered the catfish n eggs. Dang it I always forget to take a pic! as I should have of her plate - it was about 4" tall and covered almost the entire plate! 2 pieces of thick french toast, with a generous amount of whipped strawberry filling inside; syrup, chocolate chips, whip cream and loads of fresh sliced strawberries on top. Plus, 2 eggs and choice of bacon/sausage on the side, $15.95 My catfish was a single filet pan-fried, and cooked well enough, very moist on the inside, but I thought it could use a cornmeal crust, if nit breaded and fried. The o'brien potatoes were ok, a bit torched, but with the fresh salsa that came on the plate and some Tabasco, they were edible. 2 eggs any style and a side of toast accompanied my dish, $13.95. Since my wife doesn't eat pork, she asked for the sausage to be on the side (which we treat our dogs to), but the eggs came back with the sausage on top. After I explained to the server, he immediately apologized, took the plate back, brought the sausage back out by itself, and then a fresh side of eggs a couple minutes later. I asked for pepper to be put into the re-fire, that way I would know they weren't just recycled, and they came to us with pepper inside. Plus my wife loves extra pepper on her eggs when we make them at home :) Mo's has a huge menu - 3 pages of breakfast, plus 2 more for lunch, so definitely something for everyone. 4 stars for the food because of the o'briens and plain catfish, but definitely 5 for the server, and 5 for the atmosphere because its is well-decorated inside and had...
Read moreAbsolutely horrifying experience, feared for my safety and wish i had never brought my child with me. This place is decorated with SO much orange cockroach. A signed framed portrait, inauguration shirts, and all the glares from staff I expect in the deep south. The few that were willing to talk to me were polite, but the rest were not disguising their blatantly hate-filled stares towards myself and my kid. Little dude even asked me why so many people kept looking at us. If you're a minority PLEASE for your safety and comfort, just find somewhere else, the free coffee cake is NOT WORTH IT. Genuinely cried the entire drive home, we only came out here because of a power outage that meant we couldn't cook breakfast, and left with the sinking knowledge that almost everyone working here would rather people like me suffer or die than live authentic and happy lives. Deeply saddened for the young people working here and utterly disappointed in everybody else. Will never be back. Will be cross-referencing reviews to make note of other bigoted businesses in town. Would rate zero stars if i could, they even had very clearly AI art printed out and hanging on the wall??? To the owners: Why do y'all want people to feel unsafe and disgusted? The vibes here could be so nice if you all just shut the politics out and treated people like human beings. I haven't felt as hated since moving to Oregon, and i would be ashamed if I left out that this has been among the most hurtful experience I've ever had with a business in...
Read moreOrdered takeout this morning from Mo’s for the first time. We were anxious to give it a try, given the very positive reviews. We were told that food would be ready in 15-20 mins and that they’d call when it was ready. 40 mins later, we still hadn’t heard from them, so we decided to check in. The gal acted as though the food wasn’t ready, but then went behind the bar and picked out our bag of food. Right away, I mentioned that we never received a call from them, and hoped that the food was still warm. She stated that it had only been sitting there for a few mins (the cold toast would say otherwise), and that the reason they didn’t call was because they had gotten very busy... No apology for the lack of communication, no considerations regarding the final bill, and we even had to make another trip back because cutlery/napkins were not included in the bags we were sent out with. When I walked back into the restaurant to ask for cutlery, the girl said you have to ask for cutlery with your takeout order, again with no apology. Rather than relying on the customer to ask, I would think that Mo’s would put themselves in a much better position to ask the customer if they’re in need of napkins and cutlery prior to departing from the restaurant. Food was barely warm, void of flavor...
I’m grateful that others have had such positive experiences here, but based on our one and only experience, we will not be back. Service experience aside, we would not recommend this place, even solely based on the quality...
