Nikko's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Redwood City

Maybe Mexican food from San Diego is so much better due to its proximity to the Mexico border....haven't found any restaurants that have caught my attention since working outta town....was very disappointed with my surf and turf burrito I had for dinner after an eleven hour shift...not more than 4 shrimp in my burrito, and upon entering after stepping out briefly....I'm pretty sure i saw him eat one of the shrimp his apprentice was grilling for my $11.00 burrito...jaw dropping....ended my evening with stomach cramps and no sleep.... Stopped in for nopales tacos on a whim and glad I did. Tasty and authentic, with serrano peppers so delicious and spicy it gave me hiccups! Quickly put out the fire with horchata and kept eating. Looks like they do great desayuno, breakfast burritos, dinner combos, and more. A bit higher price on some items though probably because of this killer location right off Whipple and El Camino their rent is probably higher! Worth a stop if in the area. I've only had the tacos so far at Nikko's and so far they have been delicious. Bbq beef taco is simple and darn good. Another favorite is the Nopales taco with cactus, sour cream and other delectable flavors that work well together. Located in a little strip mall off El Camino Real it is a great little family owned ( I'm guessing) spot with delicious and different Mexican food. There is taco happy hour which is why I went in, in the first place. I was too late for happy hour but not too late for excellent...
