Wish I hadn’t stopped by at closing time (7:59 pm), I feel it tainted the experience based on other good ratings and the fact that they were out of several meats. To begin with, I got the rib plate which was supposed to come with cornbread- but when I got home and opened up the to go container and was surprised to find a piece of white loaf bread- that tasted nothing like cornbread. Cornbread is one of the staples of BBQ dining to me, and they never mentioned they were out- and I never asked to have my bread substituted. The two sides I picked were bbq beans, which were good (thus I gave my first star) and the potato salad with juxtaposed flavors of mayonnaise and vinegar, that never blended well. Finally and ultimately the biggest disappointment of the night, the four ribs. I only stopped by this restaurant because it smelled so good from the outside, so my hopes were up. I bit into my first rib and could tell it was dried out, but I literally had to pull it out in dry pieces from my teeth because it got stuck. 3 of the four were really dry. I had one that was edible and had decent smoke flavor layered into the meat, but it was still not the melt in your mouth kind of rib I am used to. The second star I gave because my dog really enjoyed the rib meat I gave him, as I was over my jaw hurting from trying to eat these ribs. Probably won’t go back and would recommend that others seek food...
Read moreDrove up to Nevada coming from California, and me and my buddies all wanted some BBQ. Any list that I searched on Google, Brothers BBQ was at the top of the list, and we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity.
We looked at their menu online and noticed something - BEEF RIBS SATURDAYS ONLY me and my friends all looked at each other and we had to have it. So I initially called to see if they still had any at around 11am, and a lovely lady by the name of Jen answered our call and told us they had 4 ribs left for the day. Told her that we're about an hour away heading towards Reno, and she said no worries and took our order, with sides and all. And said that they'll be waiting for us when we come in.
Once we got there, we told them the name and number associated with our order and told us to sit while they bring the food out. Once we got our food, we couldn't wait to devour the food after taking a couple nice pictures. The ribs were super tender, meat melts in your mouth, flavor was on point. The sides were really good as well. Potato salad and baked beans were the best, the corn and Mac cheese were about an average.
But if you're in the area, or coming from afar, and you're wanting some BBQ, this is the place to be. You won't disappointed. Oh and the fact that I noticed the 'believe' sign on their wall, made me enjoy my...
Read moreGrowing up in the south and living in Texas for some time, after relocating to California for work I have been missing out on some delicious 'tastes like home' bbq. So, I had to check out Brothers Barbecue and know now that I would have severely regretted not visiting. Wow! This place is incredible. The only downside is that the food was SO delicious, I may have gained a few pounds on one lunch alone! I tried the St. Louis ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, along with a number of the sides. I was blown away by the smoky, hearty flavor of the bbq beans, creamy mac and cheese, and the soft tenderous melt of the brisket which had a perfect ratio of fat to meat. I also gave their habnero bbq sauce a try, of which is to die for (not only spicy but lush in its sweet, savory flavor). The gentleman who helped me was welcoming and friendly, and the indoor dining experience appeared very COVID safe though I took my food to go. Honestly, quality experience front to back. I would visit Reno just to try this delicious spot once...
