I've been a devoted supporter of the Great Basin Community Food Coop (GBCFC) and its mission for many years, so you can imagine my excitement when they finally reopened the Foodshed Cafe! This cozy spot nestled within the GBCFC is a real gem for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, sustainably sourced fare in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
One highlight of my frequent visits is the Chunky Monkey with an added shot of espresso – it's an absolute must-try! The blend of flavors is perfectly balanced, providing a delightful energy boost that’s just right, whether you’re starting your day or need a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
The staff at the Foodshed Cafe are always welcoming and knowledgeable, eager to share their passion for good food and sustainable practices. It's evident in every bite that they put a lot of love and care into their menu, making each visit a truly enjoyable experience.
Whether you’re a long-time fan of the GBCFC or just discovering this local treasure, the Foodshed Cafe is a wonderful spot to enjoy great food, support local agriculture, and be part of a community that values sustainability and health. I’m thrilled to see this place thrive again and look forward to many...
Read moreHonestly it saddens me to give a bad review but everytime I come to the foodshed cafe I have waited 20-30 minutes for a smoothie bowl of even sandwich. Today I sat and watched my smoothie sit in the blender for 10 minutes without any attention to it. I place a to go order every time I come in and its very frustrating seeing the lack of attention to customers. Two staff members talked amongst each other while my food was in the blender untouched. The person who helped me was training, so I don't blame them for being busy, but the other staff could have helped. I was also the only one waiting for food which is the best part of it all. When my buzzer rang which was definitely loud enough to hear I went to pick up my food and no one even came to confirm my order with me so I took my food and left the buzzer on the counter. $16-17 for a a smoothie bowl that took 30 minutes to make doesn't make sense. I am a member at the co-op and I donated to the foodshed cafe because I love quality food but I’m never ordering or donating to the co-op again. This instance and the many others is why I’m giving...

The staff is friendly, talented and they go out of their way to accommodate food sensitivities. They are personable in a way that makes you feel welcomed and at home and their management staff is top notch.
The atmosphere of Foodshed Cafe - inside and out - is welcoming, warm and peaceful. I love the view of the mountains from the deck and the plants and natural surfaces inside.
The Co-op helps support an important food eco-system in the Sierra Nevadas. I'm happy to pay a little more for nutritious ingredients sourced from local farmers and makers.
I'm very grateful we have this kind of establishment in our community, staffed by such an...
