I came here on a Sunday night with my 8 year old daughter. I think they have a good amount of outdoor seating but we indoors there aren’t a ton of options. Mostly it’s couches and you share a large coffee table with the couch across. Pretty cool ambiance and very different. Feels like I’m in my buddies basement bar in Eau Claire Wisconsin! I ordered 2 different cocktails… the price seemed a tad high for how much you get but they were definitely tasty. Fries are very subjective but I’m not a huge fan of shoestring fries and didn’t seem like we got too many however they were pretty decent. Burgers were good 4/5 and we also ordered fried cheese curds that in Wisconsin would be a 2/5 but in Reno were a 3.5/5… it did seem to have a regulars vibe and at one point I had to wait for a beer while the server/bartender talked with some ladies who frequent the place and it was discussed that they were super crowded for a Sunday night but the tips stunk because it wasn’t regulars - sort of rubbed me the wrong way. I also would say there are way more kid friendly burger places…

Hey, I realized after I left that I hadn't closed out, and we just left. How can I make sure you guys got what was owed? Anyways, on to my review: The atmosphere of the place is what draws you in. I was thinking about how to describe it, and it's just cool! Small, focus on the bar on the inside. Comfortable stool-seated patio seating, too, which we chose. The music playing was awesome, too. Not your usual "hit of every year" playing, but a unique soundtrack of lesser-known r&b. Friendly staff and great food & prices. My wife had the royce burger, and I had the bbq burger. Both had two patties each and tasted just great. Well seasoned and very juicy burgers. Fries are really amazing. Try them, you must. . We also got the rib appetizers. They're pork belly and really...REALLY awesome. My wife had a drink called the Royce Refresher. I don't drink, but she said it too was really....REALLY awesome. Anyways, thanks for the great experience for us out-of-towners!

We love Royce! The food is excellent. The burgers are perfectly sized, tons of cheese, well seasoned, toasted buns, fresh ingredients. The fries are a true shoe string, also seasoned well, and have a nice crunch but are not overdone. I particularly like dipping them in the aioli. The wings are also nice and crispy and have a classic buffalo flavor. I've never had a "weird" wing here, and they appear to be of good quality. The atmosphere is cool. It has a dive bar feel but isn't scumbaggy. I get a real sense of it being a locals spot, which I love. If they're busy, it can take a while to get your food as their kitchen is tiny. So grab a beer, kick back on a couch and enjoy this gem of a spot.

We had dinner here with my cousin and his wife last night. It was highly recommended by friends of theirs. We arrived first and there didn't appear to be any available seating. There's a front room with bar seating and some low couches and a room in the back with tables and booths. Some tables looked communal and the bartender said they could be depending on how friendly the other people are.

We were able to get a table in the back just as my cousin and his wife arrived. We quickly perused the menu which ranged from poutine and cheese curds to wings and burgers including an Impossible burger.

Food: the burger and fries were great. I'd order both again. My husband liked the wings (he ordered the Japanese inspired ones with wasabi sauce) but I thought they were overly sticky and I didn't like the sauce. The poutine and cheese curds weren't the best.

Cocktails/beer: the IPA on the menu wasn't available so my husband got me another one which was ok. My cousin and his wife had cocktails from the menu and both liked them. We tried to order an Eastside or a Southside and the bartender asked what was in them and when my husband said cucumber the bartender said they didn't have any which was odd because my cousin's wife's cocktail had cucumber. We were disappointed the bartender didn't even make an effort to look up the cocktail recipe. Apparently they aren't trying to be a craft cocktail spot.

Decor: cozy and comfy but way too many TV screens. The back room must be there for sports games/events but they are distracting when you are trying to have a conversation.

Prices: reasonable.

If I were local to Reno like my cousin and his wife, I would come back but as a visitor, there are many other places...

I never leave reviews, let alone a bad one so that fact that I’m doing this really means I’m upset. I already visited Royce two times prior to this experience and I felt weird both times. I thought it was just me though so I didn’t give it too much thought. This time my girlfriend wanted to take me out and it was such a terrible experience. We walked in at 9:00, an hour before the kitchen closes per the sign on the door. Nobody greeted us and the bartender was taking shots with a group of friends. That doesn’t bother me because I’m a bartender but to not be greeted for three minutes to carry on your conversation isn’t okay (we were the only two at the bar) I ended up getting the menus for us. After we ordered and stood up to go outside the bartender had us wait for him to get us a plastic number after he was done closing checks and wiping down. He forgot and I reminded him about our number. He had us wait again while he did everything else besides hand us the plastic number until he looked at us again. We shook off that experience and waited outside. There was another employee. I’m not sure if he was a busser or bartender but I can’t really describe how he made us feel while we were eating. It was like he was upset that he had to stay late. I won’t say too much more about him because he may have just been tired but still. Overall, the bartender needs to be better. I’m in the industry as a bartender and I’ve been a server before so I’m very empathetic when it comes to others in this industry but that was such a weird and uncomfortable experience. It was the bartender working at 9:00pm...

Bartender was incredibly rude, I will never come back here again. I ordered 1 drink and food to-go, as I was mainly here for the food that I heard was pretty good. I ordered a royce burger and some wings along with my drink, it was fairly busy so I understand a longer wait time. I overheard a separate bartender say it's not unusual for orders to take 30-45 mins. So I waited patiently and at the hour mark I asked if there was any eta for my food, the same bartender I ordered from goes to check and comes back 2 seconds later with my food. I already knew it was going to be cold, who knows how long it had been finished and sitting there, I was already fairly irritated so I took it and left, I checked it when I got to my car and the food wasn't even warm. Seriously? As I type this, I'm reheating my royce burger, and wings I just got home with 2 minutes ago, I only live 3 mins from this place. First and last time. People spoke really highly of this place, it's unfortunate because they seemed to have something going there, the burger isn't really anything to write home about either, just a slightly better in n out burger, when it's warm/hot, I'm sure. And that's even giving it a...
