This incident happened at 3:48pm 2/25/25 Came in for my soup and croissant, as I'm a frequent customer at this location. While there 5 children came in behind me; one asked for a cup of water and the other 4 followed behind. Upon paying, the manager (Bobby; tall slinky Caucasian male) yelled at the children; told them they could not have ice cream and immediately ordered them out of the store and told them he was calling the cops. Kids were maybe 11-12 years of age. They walked out embarrassed and scared. I walked out after then and told them I'd buy them ice cream and told the cashier to get the manager.
As he comes up I asked if I could pay for their ice cream, he said no because it's free for dine in customers. I then told him he could have done better and handled the situation better as a full grown adult should have. He then went back and forth with these kids about how their mothers should do better raising them, threw in "I tell my son one time to do something and he listens", went on to even say "you probably steal from Walmart and other stores", again I told him you're an adult do better. BOBBY then goes to tell the kids and myself he owns the store and everything comes out of his pocket and bonuses. Super unprofessional & lack of respect for customers in the restaurant.
I said something bc for ONE it could have been my kid, it could have been my kid needing sugar for a medical emergency or just plain out looking for something to eat because they don't have anything available at home. There was no compassion in this situation, just "I'm calling the cops"! 4 ice creams were not putting a dent on Bobby's wallet or bonus. I've saw mom and pop shops do better for homeless people and their community while struggling with their businesses.
Bobby also basically told me to shut it because some how he just knew I've never ran a business before and know how his budgeting works and that WAS DISGUSTING.
It's disappointing to see this in my community and I told the manager/owner that. I did however call corporate and they told me no one should have been kicked out over ice cream.
Do better Jasons Deli, I'm beyond disgusted of how the children were treated. Bc if it was the other way around Bobby wouldn't want anyone talking to his children the way he talked to these kids today. He should be embarrassed.
You all lost me as a customer of 8 years, only place I went for my soup too.
DO BETTER, even when you are having a bad day. Doing something kind for another person would have shifted an attitude...
Read moreAs someone who frequently travels and eats along the same guidelines as keto, Paleo/primal, or diabetic diets, I need food that is real, this place always serves, and this location is no exception. For the average eater, you have a variety of sandwiches and potatoes, along with a slew of soups, stews, and other bowl-worthy contenders. But what stands out is the salad bar.
I know, salad is fo- don't get me started. If someone turns their nose up at a fresh salad with colorful veggies, crisp lettuce, delicious dressings, and wonderful toppings, especially tasty bacon and cheese, I can't help you.
What helps Jason's stand out is their selection of salad add-ons. For a bit extra, you can get chicken, beef, salmon, avocado, or freshly cooked eggs, which elevates a great salad bar into a phenomenal experience as consistent as a McDonald's Quater Pounder with Cheese. Perfectly cooked eggs, moist chicken, flaky salmon, tender beef, and smooth, creamy avocado all turn health food into fare I'd be more than happy to serve at home. I can stay on track with my dietary needs and be happily full when I'm done, and if I'm not, I can always go back for seconds.
For those who don't have these limitations on what they can eat, they also have tasty breads, crackers, cookies, sodas, and if you're really indulgent, free soft serve ice cream, complete with crunchy cones and syrups.
No matter if you're following vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, primal, Paleo, keto, or Standard American Diet, there's options for everyone at reasonable prices, huge bang for the buck, all wrapped in a relaxing environment that I'm more than happy to head into, be it for stop-and-go eating, or a regular sit-down. Jason's Deli is one of the best options possible for any...
Read moreI go to this location approximately 2-3 times a week for my lunch break. I have never had a terrible or bad experience there, until today. Whoever the guy was behind the counter, there was only one working, from 2 - 3p.m., not only messed up my order twice, but did not even apologize for it. He instead tried to argue and insinuate I that I was wrong in this matter. However, no matter if the customer is wrong or right, in customer service or being a server, you apologize and fix it to their standards and uphold the reputable company's name like it was your own. He was not friendly and honestly did not seem to care. He handed me back my bag with my "fixed" order for the second time and did not even say a word. So I informed him, "I have been in customer service for over 4 years and worked my way up to corporate level. When a client has an issue, no matter what, you say you are sorry and fix it." He smirked and said "yes ma'am" but totally blew it off and rolled his eyes as he turned around! Are you kidding me?? I have never been treated so rudely and felt embarrassed to be there. If I wasn't already late for work because of his inaccuracy, I would have asked to see the manager then and there. I will for sure pray for that young man and I hope this issue gets addressed...
