Casta's Rum Bar — Restaurant in Richmond

We booked a reservation online at OpenTable for 9:00pm. We arrived and for 10 minutes there was no one at the door to greet us but the security guard outside. Once we sat down we were given menus and we began to order. They were out of guacamole and the frozen drink machine was out of service, both we wanted. Okay. Once we finished ordering our food I had to excuse myself to the restroom. I got to the restroom and both toilets were clogged. I advised the server of the restroom situation. She told me it's been clogged up all day and they haven't had time to unclog it. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I could go to the restroom at the hotel. A few minutes after that, the server returned to our table and advised us we needed to close our tab. We had not received our food because we had just ordered our food. We had to close our tab because she was no longer going to be a server and if we needed her we had to come to the bar. This all happened in 20 minutes of us sitting down. It was a pretty bad...

First time here but will not be last! Where do I start? We were greeted by Jonathan, a very positive and attentive server. The Mojitos while a tad on the sweet side were still delicious. We arrived during happy hour and tried the Empanadas, chicken skewers, and bacon wrapped plantains. Empanadas we're above average but the skewers and plantains were superb! Lastly we had the "Al Carbon Churrasco", chargrilled steak, asparagus and frites with banana ketchup! Steak was tender and delicious! And what?!….banana ketchup? Weirdly addictive. A touch of Miami in RVA, Casta’s Rum Bar gives a touch of Cuban atmosphere within their walls. I was greeted by a drop dead gorgeous server whose name escapes me because I was stunned, she checked on me often and worked far beyond her pay grade. The reggaeton was nice as I read my book and enjoyed a cigar which was definitely overpriced for its quality. The spinach empanadas were amazing and came out quickly.
