OK, I think it's time that I say something. My wife and I live in Richmond, Indiana. There is a Texas roadhouse here which is is my younger brother's favorite restaurant. Two years ago when we moved here, we went to Texas roadhouse and had a really good meal. So we went back and this time had A disappointing meal. Recognizing that any restaurant can have an off day, we went back a third time and had another disappointing meal. So we didn't go back for about two years and then on Valentine's Day this year we went back again. We both had a terrific meal and mine may have been one of the best steaks I've ever had. We were excited thinking they've really up their game so since that we've been back five times. The first visit after Valentine's Day, our steaks were definitely inferior to our Valentines experience. Shortly after, while visiting our daughter in Las Vegas, we went to Texas roadhouse again this time we had an OK experience. Steaks were acceptable, but did not leave me wanting to go back. Last night we went to Texas roadhouse again in Richmond. We both ordered sirloin steaks, which we both really like normally. The quality of the steak was terrible. It may have been in the running for the worst stake I've ever had. I literally couldn't chew it. After five minutes of chewing it felt like you were chewing a wad of paper. The problem wasn't with how it was cooked. It was with the beef itself. I've grilled a lot of steaks in my lifetime and as a general rule steaks cooked at home are almost always better than anything I get at any restaurant. I have learned that the real secret to cooking a great steak is starting with a great cut of meat. We've had some great meals at Texas roadhouse and we've had some so so and some subpar meals. What is apparent to me is that they don't have a great handle on quality of the beef. It is not consistent. Because we sometimes get great meals here, we will continue to go back periodically as long as we hit a home run every once in a while. However, if we had consistently good meals, we'd probably eat there once a week Given our recent experience it'll probably be a long time before we give it...
Read moreI originally gave this place a 5 2 years ago. But I dropped to a 3 because food quality has dropped along with service. Mid managers I give a 1 because of an issue today. My wife purchased a discount card about a year ago that gives you a free appetizer with the purchase of 2 meals . We did not know if it has expired or not so we asked our sever prior to ordering if it was still valid and we was told yes . So we ordered and when it became time to pay we asked for the appetizer to be discontinued off. We was told it had expired and mid manager came to our table and was very rude and said we are not discounting it you will have to pay for it. Then said you had for a year as if we received our money’s worth. So being displeased I ask to speak to her manager he came out and I am not satisfied with his final resolution. I had to explain that it is common courtesy when a employee make the mistake the company assumes the cost that I would not of ordered the appetizer and his employee told us it was still good and it came with our meal. I don’t blame the sever for making a mistake but I do blame management for being rude and not assuming the expense. My wife eats there at least 3 -4 times a month spending around $200 a month for her and my son . I eat there at least 1 time a month spending a additional $15 . We also go there for special events birthday and Mother’s Day and today was our anniversary. I have a huge family we need seating’s on special occasions for 9 - 15 . 6 kids 5 grand kids and 2 in-laws . I don’t see us coming anytime soon. All over a $5 appetizer. I normally tip 20% as a minimum so it isn’t about the $5 but about customer appreciation and courtesy. I told the last manager that the steak was dry and I only ate half and I didn’t complain about it but if I did you would have taken off my ticket. I eat what is set before me with out complaint unless it is under cooked (only). I should not have to pay for there employee mistake and then...
Read moreI love eating here and ABSOLUTELY love the Yeast Bread Rolls with the Honey Cinnamon Butter. Knowing that this place stays pretty busy it just seems like everytime My Girlfriend & I are here we are usually waiting on our actual food anywhere from 30 mins and even up to an hour which I think is ridiculous considering that it's a buisness that serves food it's always like this no matter what time it is when we go. It should never take this long when waiting on food but it never fails when we go though. It would be nice if they could figure out a different method then what it is they've been doing because it's just taking way to long but I know that if we wasn't ordering anything and just eating appetizers then we wouldn't get to stay long at all considering they come up to you and tell you that you have to at least order an actual Adult Meal in order to stay for a little while which is outlandish considering that this is place of Buisness that serves people food but by the time that they do get the food out to you your already partially ready to go and ain't gonna be able to eat much of what you ordered anyways because you've been eating Rolls for the last 30 mins to an hour. Even though they take forever getting it to you the food is actually pretty good. My Girlfriend ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwhich with BBQ Sauce and I had Ordered the Roadhouse Bacon Burger plus I added the BBQ Sauce to it as well which made it that much more delicious my Girlfriend eats her Sandwhich plan so she wasn't gonna use it anyways. We also got some cheddar and Bacon bit covered fried as well and they was decent to. So other then you having to wait so long to get your meal this is a nice place to eat every now and then but if your looking for somwthing quick then I would just move to the next place because you won't get...
