The Pizza Place — Restaurant in Richmond

After reading the mostly harsh reviews I was really on the fence, but it was late last night (10:30pm) and my other place was closed. I ordered a large cheese pie and added sausage, spinach and mushrooms. For dinner the next night, I went ahead and ordered a calzone with the same toppings as the pizza and added garlic knots for the fun of it. The order arrived hot and within the hour! And, not sure who those folks are whining about the quality, but what I got was amazing! Maybe I got lucky, but I am extremely impressed with this place. The quality of everything was better than I've had in a very long time. The pizza and calzone crust (I usually always order thin crust elsewhere) we're so light, airy and crispy on the top and bottom. The garlic knots were just as light and crispy and OH! so tasty with their garlic seasoning. All the toppings were fresh and flavorful. My only regrets were The little amount (3 tbs at best) of garlic sauce (yummy) and marinara you get. They don't offer "extra" or" add on" anything, but I suffered through it. Extra sausage would have rocked! So, in short... even with the cost, I don't think I'll go back to my "usual" pizza place unless I get a bad order from The Pizza Place. Delicious pizza, calzones, Stromboli, and beef patties. I have ordered delivery from here and they didn't show up. I have also ordered delivery from here and received the wrong order with my correct order's receipt on the box. I wouldn't recommend delivery. The staff doesn't seem to understand or speak much English which is cool, but frustrating for them at times. The pizza is really delish! I usually get an extra large with extra cheese, pepperoni, and mushrooms. I get a couple Jamaican beef patties as well. They have bottles of Tahitian Treat which is normally only available at city groceries, bodegas, and convenience stores. I love me some Tahitian Treat. The ATM machines are wack af. The fee is higher than average and it one only allows a draw of $50 per transaction and the other only $100. There is only street parking. The food is very yummy and reasonably priced. I've been coming here for years; especially late night after enjoying downtown, and I can honestly say "they never disappoint me". 1 slice of cheese pizza and 1 Jamaican beef & cheese patty later and this one right here 🙋 is a truly happy girl 😊😋🥰.
