Yesterday, after a bit of a chaotic morning with two kids, my husband and I dropped his car off at the Kia dealership right next to Zeppeās. Iād seen them at the Ogden Fourth of July parade last year, and while I always notice them when we drive by, it's not street-facing, so I never made it a priority.
But with a slightly fussy one-year-old in the backseat and a long day behind us, I knew I needed to come up with some sort of treat to make the transition home a little smoother. So I pulled in.
I was immediately greeted by a warm, genuine voice over the speaker. It didnāt sound scripted or overly polishedāit sounded like someone who truly cared, like a small business owner talking directly to me. It reminded me of the VIP treatment I experienced at Disneyland recently, except this time, I hadnāt paid for a premium passāI was just a regular customer, and yet I felt just as important.
The woman on the speaker asked if it was my first time (which it was), and kindly walked me through the ordering process. The menu was a bit overwhelming, but she helped make sense of it all. When I got to the window, she even offered to get me a cup with a lid since I wasnāt planning on eating it right away. She also noticed me glancing at other flavors and offered a sample while I waited.
This level of customer service is exactly what people need more of. I wish I had cash on me, but thankfully their iPad made tipping easyābecause service like that deserves a tip. I think thatās part of the tipping issue in Utah. Being from Vegas, Iām used to it, but I know a lot of people here hesitate to tip at drive-thrus unless they feel the service truly stands out. And let me sayāTia (I hope thatās her name!) absolutely delivered standout service.

The Italian Ice was as good as I've ever had. But .. no lemon? C'mon š My visit started with 3 strikes just because of all the flavors they were out of. Can I get .. sorry, we're out x3. The cashier asked 'would you like me to tell you what we're out of?' then named what seemed like half the flavors. Everything I ordered was with the pistachio, finally I said I'll just take any flavor of Ice and the vanilla gelato. Then my grandson expressed interest in the pistachio and she offered him a sample š³. I had clearly said I wanted to try the pistachio and asked her what she recommended to go with it at the start. Where was my sample?? The whole visit was one disappointment after another. It probably didn't help that I was already unhappy because we had searched for Zeppe's on the map app and it said there was one behind the Newgate and that it closed at 10p. It turned out that it's inside a trampoline park. We went in at 9:30 and were told that the concessions were closed already š If you want a good experience at Zeppe's, I suggest you go to the North...

There are times they don't have it, and sad as it is, we understand they need to rotate flavors and everything, so we just wait and go back the next week the best thing is we can buy it in quart and gallon sizes ā¤ļø and we can take it home and everyone gets some and the rest goes in the freezer for another day and it's so much better than icecream although the frozen custard is amazing and they have sweet nachos that are so great my daughter loves the churro donuts š© with the frozen custard on top it's like a Sunday and she loves it I don't think they serve anything bad you really can't go wrong with anything here and I have not met 1 single employee that is not super polite and they all go the extra mile for all of their customers it's always a great experience thank...
