This is hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant.
My wife and I walked into MOD Pizza and stood at the counter for 20 minutes. Not a single person greeted us. No “Hi,” no “Welcome to MOD,” not even a “Give us a second.” Nothing.
There were only three employees in the store: • One woman who was clearly busy making what looked like online/Uber orders • A guy with tattoos on his face, also working • And a skinny younger guy who walked around drinking from a cup, staring at his phone, texting, and literally doing nothing to help customers
He saw us standing there. He looked right at us. And then just walked into the back like he couldn’t care less. The worst part? He did that multiple times — walked out, glanced over at the growing line, then went right back to texting or hiding in the break room.
By the time we left, six customers had come in and walked out. We were first in line, followed by a nice couple who also mentioned how bad the service was, and then another couple came in and ended up leaving with us. Nobody ever got helped.
If I were the owner, I’d check the cameras from 6:45 PM tonight and watch what really happened. See how we all stood there like idiots while one employee worked her tail off, another helped, and the third one just wandered around ignoring customers.
Here’s a simple solution: have the idle guy handle walk-in orders while the others prep Uber Eats. It’s not complicated. Prioritize the people who are physically in the store.
Because of this experience, I’ll never be back — and I hope the other five people who were there with us never return either. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.

I really want to love Mod Pizza, the choose-your-own pizza concept is great and the family loves it. BUT the training of the staff and the processes they follow make it nearly impossible to have a good experience there.
The last 3 times I went there, I swore I was done, but each time, a few months went by and I returned to feed a pizza hungry family. Somehow, the experience turns sour every single time. Today I placed the order online so I wouldn't have to wait in line. I showed up 15 minutes later, ready to pick up my 4 pizzas. I was told my pizzas were being made and would be next in the oven.
I checked with the cashier twice over the next 20 minutes, and different cashiers told me the same story each time. That is apparently their standard script.
I waited nearly 30 minutes in the store, during which time a dozen customers came into the restaurant, ordered their pizzas, and got their pizzas before mine. Then I watched the workers get to a point where they were not making any pizzas, as they were caught up, though mine were still not made! When I pointed out how long I'd been waiting and my order was still not ready, the cashier said my last 2 pizzas were in the oven and my order was "almost ready".
By the time we got home, my son had gone to work and missed out on the pizza. The pizzas themselves were very good, but the service was lousy, and they consistently take 2-3 times longer than they indicate. Staff did nothing to help or actually check on my order, they just recited "They are making it now" over and over.
They need a good process consultant or lean consultant to come in and whip the assembly line and procedures into place. Won't go back. Too...
Read moreMOD Pizza is great. They're super fast, have a ton of topping options (all for no additional charge, no matter what you put on your pizza), and bring it all together into a very tasty package.
The default crust is a thin crust, but they have the option to combine two of their thin crusts together for a thicker crust. I've never had the thicker option, but the thin crust tastes very good and stays very crispy so I've never felt the need to double it up. Their toppings are plentiful and they all seem to be of a high quality, especially if you consider the price you're paying. They have multiple cheese and sauce choices, too.
Their service is great. Everyone is super friendly, but not in that weird way that a lot of quick service restaurants are going where they feel the need to talk constantly. They pay attention to your order, say please and thanks, and have smiles on their faces through the whole experience. Can't really ask for much more.
Their online ordering is also very consistent. I haven't had a single order received incorrectly and I've always done some kind of build-your-own. Their take out boxes are also unique in that they are two separate parts rather than a folded pizza box, which I think is sturdier than the traditional pizza box.
For the price, I don't really feel this place can be beat. It's a higher quality pizza than somewhere like Little Caesars at only a slightly higher price. I wouldn't say that it's as good as places like The Pie or Slackwater, but it's also a different kind of pizza. If you want a quick, cheap pizza, this is the...
