Hill Top TCG — Local services in Riverdale

Hill Top is my personal favorite LCS. I moved here within the last 3 months and felt right at home. Product seems to mainly be Pokemon, however, Lorcana has definitely found a good foothold and they have MtG, too. I've seen English and Japanese/foreign sets but English is dominant. The staff have been nothing but great to me, even when I'm constantly bugging them nearly every week. Whether it's hunting down a chase card, picking up more sleeves, or getting my hands on a set booklet; they got what I need or keep an eye out for me. Hill Top has a fantastic selection of single cards as well as bulk. I'm often found sifting through cards to complete sets or grabbing dupes needed for play. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant! Lovely low-fi music in the background with plenty of table space to delve into bulk or play. Though I have only been present for a few months the shop has improved significantly, you can tell the business is a labor of love. The other patrons that I come across while in store are lovely, I've never felt uncomfortable talking and interacting with others. Scalpers and such aren't tolerated, a major plus so that we genuine hobbyists and TCG players can find some sort of solace. While some products are priced to market, others can be found at MSRP; every set drop I've attended has been at MSRP and fairly distributed. As a collector, I'm in the dark about selling but I couldn't imagine the Hill Top Team being sketchy low ballers. Overall, I love this place and will keep going as long as...

I’ve gone to this shop many many times for vintage Pokemon cards since they opened and they would always match Pokemon TCG with no problems. Today I came in looking at vintage Pokemon cards in the little box they had tucked away under the counter. They had a new hire kid (boy) working behind the counter. I asked him a couple prices on some cards and they didn’t seem right. So I looked up the same card off TCG with sellers having 5,000+ sells. The prices did not match, the kid behind the counter was charging the damage common card as a moderately played holo. He did apologize for the mess up and then we moved on to the next card and again he gave me the wrong price. Then moved to the next card and was rating a heavily played near damage as a lightly played. So at this time, i just decided not to get any of the cards because I couldn’t trust cards were getting rated correctly. I’m very sad because one I’ve never had this problem before here, I loved this shop. Then second I couldn’t get the cards I wanted. Hopefully this won’t happen again...
