Zao Asian Cafe — Restaurant in Riverdale

Zao Riverdale, after years of being faithful to you as I do enjoy your food I’m sad to say that today confirmed I’m parting ways. Tonight 6/26/2025 I went in to grab dinner after a long 16hr shift. As I patiently waited for your employee (couldn’t get her name as no one was wearing a name tag) she was Hispanic as I am one too and heard she spoke Spanish, to finish counting money as I stood in front of her for a good 3 minutes without being acknowledged by her not that I need to be but this is a business, I was told by another employee to move to the other side as I wasn’t standing in the actual line to order by mistake. I watch her finish counting the money DOES NOT wash her hands and just grabs a pair of gloves and starts handling food, she also made no effort to be heard as I could not hear any questions she was asking me and everytime I asked to confirmed what she asked it seemed like it bothered her. I wouldn’t be leaving this review if it wasn’t a matter not to be concerned but the fact that there’s no handwashing after counting money worries and makes me wonder about the overall cleanliness of this place. When i pay over 16 dollars in bowl and i say extra and pay for it i expect to get what i ask for. No body is doing me favors it is trade market i pay for the services that I get so do not serve me very small portions like you are paying me for it I am paying and I am adding extra money so I expect extra i am really not happy with it this is happened multiple times look at the pictures and the bowl size and I paid over $16 an extra money and still so small portion I really really hate places like that i will make sure to tell everyone about it.
