The service was slow but the waitress was very kind and had a good attitude. We sat down before 3 other tables. There was no host so we were told to seat ourselves. We had 6 people with us and the other tables were 2 and 3 tops. The restaurant was not very busy however i dont know what was happening with to go orders or the bar. We were the last table to have our orders taken even though we were the first to seat. After all the other tables had been given their drinks and appitizers....we were just getting our beers. We additionally had a 2 and 5 yr old with us that were clearly very hungry. There were no crackers or chips for them to snack on and we continued to wait on a kids grilled cheese and fries and a kids hamburger. We were not so concerned about the chix sand and burger and 2 salads the adults ordered but just wanted the kids to eat. 2 hours (maybe a little longer) we got up to leave. The waitress apologized and said the food was comped and that she would put it in a to go box for us. We said ok bc the children needed to eat. I completely understand how this happens as being in the food industry however she could have at least offered the babies fries or fruit or chips or something just to let them have SOMETHING. I dont know if she forgot to put the order in or the cook lost the ticket, but the ball was completely dropped and no manager ever came to apologize. Even though the food was comped I would never go back. Things happen i get it, but a manager should have stepped in and took control of his/her restaurant. Very disappointing. To top it off....the salads were hot. We left them...
Read moreI am a travel nurse and often meet my husband in Roanoke we enjoy the atmosphere and visit many bars this one has karaoke and this trip we brought my 7 year old granddaughter our main purpose this trip was the karaoke which she loves prior to going to this establishment we inquired if she could come to karaoke and was informed yes but after 2200 she was not allowed so we went at 2000 and we had a beer she had a cup of ice We decided we’d have one more beer and wait for our granddaughter to sing at Karaoke at 2100 we were told she had to leave we could finish our beer but then we had to go she was heart broken I looked up the law As I live in NC the law in Va which says she is allowed as long as an adult is present but the establishment has the final say we have spent a ton of money at this place over the years we bring our dogs and enjoy the atmosphere but after tonight we will never patronize it again my granddaughter was treated as if she was unfit to be among the folks at this establishment we were fortunate as the karaoke guy was pleasant and understanding and allowed her to be first so she could sing which by the way inspired people to come into the bar which is ironic as it increased the...
Read moreSo tonight my friends and I found out that drinking games are not allowed in bars. That wasn't a problem, we were informed that our game was not allowed and we did not start a new game. However, one of the bartenders did not believe we had, and vehemently, using multiple expletives, told us we needed to stop what we were doing immediately in a harsh and rude manner. My friends and I frequent the bar, therefore to be so crudely disrespected came as a surprise. No business should treat their customers, especially their regulars, with the amount of disrespect we were shown. I spoke with the first gentleman who told us to stop (politely), outside (as the other was busy and clearly we were leaving the establishment). That gentleman agreed we stopped after his initial warning. There is no reason a bartender or manager should cuss and yell at an otherwise well behaved group. Especially compared to the more rambunctious group before us.
We typically come out for karaoke every Thursday, but I think we will pass for now. It really is unfortunate considering we really enjoyed Fork in the...
