Market Gallery — Attraction in Roanoke

I was pleasantly shocked at the level of talent I found when I visited The Market Gallery in Roanoke. Annie Schultz's "Evening Light Downtown" reminded me of Georgia O'Keeffe's painting of New York at Night. Everywhere I turned I found incredible pieces of art by regional artist. I saw so many beautiful and creative pieces that I literally had to sit down and just look for a while. (I'm not an artist but a great appreciator) The clerk was friendly and happy to answer questions about the work. This is a true fine art gallery. Only original works are sold here no reproductions are offered for sale. Paintings, mixed media, photography and pottery are represented. The artists each take a turn managing the gallery each month so customers have the advantage of interaction with the creators of the art exhibited. A friendly peaceful environment where all are welcome is what you will find in this urbane gallery.
