Great atmosphere and location. That will only take you so far. Maybe I hit the restaurant on a bad morning. i was greeted and was promptly brought water and coffee. I ordered two over medium eggs, home fries, sausage, and wheat toast. When the food arrived I opened up the silverware and it was dirty; the toaster only toasts on one side of the bread and even that side wasn’t toasty, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage was great. the home fries were cold, I asked if they had a microwave and they didn’t, I told the waitress that the home fries were cold; non-responsive. I then paid for my breakfast $10.62 for Sausage and eggs, coffee and potatoes I couldn’t eat. I let my waitress know what was wrong with the breakfast while two other workers listened in. I did get an apology. On the way back to the hotel I called the restaurant because it didn’t sit with me well paying 10.62 for a 2.50 breakfast. The person that answered the phone was very apologetic, and told me toward the end of the conversation that ala cart the price would be about the same: I responded with a confused OK; she then asked if I would like her to take a couple dollars off ( at this point I’m thinking she doesn’t get why I am calling and its to much trouble to explain to her the whole reason I’m calling is to have the bill reduced to a reasonable price for what I received.) I gave up, told her not to worry about it I would just put in a few reviews and thanked her. I could have received the same breakfast cooked correctly at Waffle House a...
Read moreAtmosphere: There is indoor and outdoor seating which can be great for nice days, but it is also enclosed and has heaters in the winter. The seating is a little crowded and a clear grab that they would prefer more paying customers than a bit more legroom.
Food: The selection of food is limited to breakfast only and the menu is somewhat confusing in my opinion. There is an option called "Scrambled Style" which mean eggs can come scrambled in three different varieties; you'll have to ask your server for an explanation. The scrambled option adds about $2 to every meal. The food is delicious, but for the price a bit basic. Additionally, parking can be challenging as it is in the heat of down town (Center in the Square). My wife loves their french toast and their egg sandwhiches are in good portions.
Service: The wait staff is hit or miss. It's hard to tell if there is inexperienced staff or if they have too many tables each, but sometimes you can feel an inconvenience rather than a patron, but other times it's just okay. We have had servers pour coffee and spill it without even noticing since they are in such a hurry to turn around and go elsewhere. It's also not uncommon for your drink to reach empty for several minutes before it is refilled.
Priase: Good food. Great for a cute date, not a chain restaurant. Improvements: Customer Service and potentially re-organize seating to allow for more room or remove...
Read moreToday (1-15-21) was my first visit to Scrambled. We started the meal with two Smirnoff Bloody Marys (they also offer Tito's, but higher grade vodka is pointless in a B.M.) that were made with Zing Zang and garnished with lime, celery and olives. They were a great opener to the experience and our day. She ordered the Star City Scramble which includes two eggs any style, a side of meat (apple cider bacon in this case) home fries, and a choice of pancakes or vanilla French toast (she went with French toast). I ordered the steak and eggs, which includes a 5 oz. filet blackened or grilled (I went with grilled), two eggs any style (over medium) a side (home fries) and a bread (English muffin). My two issues with my order was that the steak - although cooked perfectly (I ordered it medium rare) - it seemed completely unseasoned. The home fries were good, but needed a little onion or something in the mix for better flavor. I sampled my date's French toast (though not a French toast fan) and it was actually quite good... I ended up taking more than one bite as the flavor grew on me. In the future, I'll more likely consider Scrambled as a location for brunch once in a while (due to the availability of adult beverages) rather than a regular...
