Wendy's — Restaurant in Roanoke

It was like any typical night. Hungry. Cold. Tired. Pulled into Wendy's and went to go inside, but the doors were already locked. Thought it seemed odd, but hopped back into my car and jumped into the drive thru line. There were 3 vehicles in front of me before placing my order. A decent amount of time had already passed before it made me wonder what time it was. 9:39pm. I was able to place my order by 9:46pm. Two homestyle chicken sandwich combos. One for me and one for a friend. I was in line for 20 minutes before frustration started to set in. There was only one car in the parking lot, so I really started to wonder if there was only one extremely flustered person inside who was trying their best to keep up with the orders. Once I made it to the window, I was surprised to see at least 6 people working inside. They were carrying on and laughing. Having a good time. It's good to see people enjoying the work place. I would say they were enjoying their work, but they were doing everything far from "working". I pulled forward after receiving the food, because it's good practice to check it. I was short a fry and received a wrong sandwich. But it wasn't worth my time to resolve it. I found out after my friend took a sip of his drink that his Dr. Pepper with light ice ended up being brown tinted water that wasn't even carbonated. I left the store at 10:08pm. Honestly it was my fault because I should've just left sooner. There have been a couple rare occasions that service was great. Wendy's is great. Even late! Stopped by alone for a bite to eat at this Hershberger Wendys today. The chicken sandwich was good and my fries were very hot and fresh, but the wait time was absolutely ridiculous. Waited 15 minutes to get the chicken sandwich and on top of the wait time, the order was incorrect the first time. They gave me a grilled instead of homestyle. Had to take it back and wait an additional 10 minutes to get my homestyle. Totally unacceptable. They seem very disorganized here at this particular Wendys on Hershberger too. To give you an idea of just how disorganized they seem to be.. let me tell you a story.

I know a former General Manager of this location. He said after leaving this location, he came to see it and try it out about 6 months later. During his visit 6 months after leaving, he quickly realized that nobody seemed to remember him, even though he was their General Manager just 6 months ago. It seems quite unbelievable that literally NOBODY would remember a General Manager that left the location just 6 months ago... I think either A. These people and management at this Wendy's simply don't care. Or B. They are totally disorganized. Or maybe C. They just have remarkably bad memories. I think personally, it's a combination of A and B both. Hopefully they will start caring more and improving. This Wendys on Hershberger has tons...

As I went there today and decided to dine in rather than drive through. It was not a very busy time of day. The person at The counter was the total opposite of friendly almost standoffish. Just ordered a meal but I wanted a large drink instead of a regular size drink but normal fries. She gave me a glare and said, " you want what?" After being understand I re-explained. She then took a step back and yell hey come do this I don't know. After a minute or so of standing there. I said it's ok can you just make the meal large. She said what ever and finished ringing the order. As she was finishing the manager comes up to see what was wrong. The cashier said he wanted etc and told her. Then the manager proceeded to say well you need to figure it out I have a business to run I don't have time to stop for ever small thing you don't know. While I was standing right there. So this made the cashier even more mad so as she is filling my drink she slams it down not putting the lid on and it spills over and she just looks at me. Then sets my food on the counter and said here. Then she walked away. So after this whole ordeal I will never get food from that location ever again and I will recommend that everyone else...
