This food was delivered quickly, and as soon as we got the food we could see why.I honestly forgot to take a picture of the $30 large pizza and fried calamari or qhat they attempt to pass of as such.My family and I stayed at the Ramada Inn this past weekend to attend my sister's baby shower. We ordered our food that evening and delivery was quick,we assumed because they were literally within a 3 minute walk down the street. But being late and traveling with kids we opted to get it delivered mainly due to the icky weather. We received the order and we very disappointed. The fried calamari looked more like slimy onion rings, not fried,or hot and was hardly cooked. The large pizza we ordered was supposed to be half cheese/pepperoni,and it was not even close to worth $17 by the look of it.To start the pizza was almost covered in pepperoni and that is just the beginning, cheese not even sliding off the pizza just not applied to almost 3 slices and burnt crust, which I'm sorry being a NJ native I'm accustomed to much better. But my biggest complaint wasn't the food,it was the lack of empathy and extremely poor customer service.I left my hotel to return the food to the restaurant with intent of placing another order thinking maybe someone just rushed this one because they were busy om a Saturday evening.I walked into the very busy restaurant and spoke with the man at the register. When I asked for a manager,he asked what the issue was,I explained to him the situation, more or less that the order was unacceptably thrown together and I would like to reorder it or be refunded. The man's response started by explaining that this was thin crust pizza and it was how it's supposed to look (um didn't know pizza slices without cheese were part of the deal but ok) as if looking at the pizza cooked by a 5 year old was up to par with their establishment's standard.Nevertheless the poor quality pizza was not as disgusting as the raw calamari that would have been better used for a sling shot,it wasn't fried, fresh or edible it was an absolute horror. When the man refunded me rather than be empathetic,or apologetic regarding the inconvenience that now effected my family and I,he refunded me and said not to order from there again,as if I would consider it ever.Very rude and unfortunate that this 1st impression was a...
Read moreI really want to like this place. It’s a local spot for me and something I would frequent. I felt like the manager (older Caucasian man) completely ignored our table. He would walk around to all the other tables (sometimes check in more than once) and refused to come to ours. I heard him being rude to the staff and talking about other customers (angry about their requests). The icing on the cake was that were served raw chicken!! Yes, raw chicken! It was thin. How do you get that wrong? The lighting was dim. I had to flash my phone light on it. I almost served raw grilled chicken to my kids!?! It looked grilled on the outside but raw on the inside and edges. I advised the waitress. You would think that (at this point in our meal) the manager would walk over and offer a dessert or at least an apology but again, we were ignored. I will say the pizza was good and fresh. The other items we had did not taste fresh. I honestly couldn’t trust them after that incident with food handling. The waitress apologized and brought back the same dish with a better cooked chicken. No one else seemed to acknowledge that serving raw chicken to children is an unacceptable mistake. This is not your local hole in the wall pizzeria. I expected concern and better service when it came to addressing this issue. The other staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our waitress was also very nice. If you want a nice pizza pie in a fancier place, why not? I wouldn’t trust their other food. This place was also not very welcoming to me (woman/minority). Photo was taken inadvertently before I...
Read moreIt all began so nice. They sat us outside right away (right next to the broken glass railing that was surrounded by garbage) and there were not many patrons to serve. So naturally I thought this would be a great experience. The waiter came right away and took our drink order that we ordered but then another table was sat down and it was like we did not exist. Then after a short wait the waiter brought over 1 beer in a glass and another beer (mind you we are seated outside) in the bottle. Mean while he managed to get the order and perfectly serve the customers next to us before we had to ask a manager for the glass that finally came. Bread was good but no butter just olive oil. No mention of the daily specials or more about it. But we jumped right in and asked for a “Burrata” salad which was more Mozzarella then cream let’s just say, probably should just call it mozzarella and stop over charging. But I digress. We ordered our meals and the usually full ravioli was not so full, we loved the sauce though. Finally we get to dessert it was good but no sugar was offered with the coffee we ordered. I guess the wait staff expects you to be specific with dinks.... and to top off the amazing (not) service we got charged for drinks from the blessed table that managed to get most of the waiters attention. It was overall subpar but if you are looking for a quality Italian restaurant Vesta in East Rutherford is probably a better look. Good luck getting a glass. And they should really fix that broken glass and clean...
