NEEDS MILK. WHO EATS COOKIES / COOKIE DOUGH WITHOUT MILK? Edit: In response to the owner- That's not the reason I gave 3 stars. I gave three stars because the first time I came in there was milk available- which I would expect at any non-vegan food establishment in general but yes, especially at a place that sells cookie dough especially as cookies are traditionally eaten with milk in America. So naturally, I expected milk to be available. I can tell you that the first time I came in I happened to ask for it but an employee should have offered. Upselling at the register by asking for an add on "Would you like some milk with your cookie dough?" is a basic part of running a profitable business. When there was milk originally it was these big bottles of milk. It'd make sense to just have a gallon or two and paper cups with straws for $1 or whatever. Thats cut back waste significantly and provide a complimentary item to the featured product. No milk -1☆ for me. The other reason I gave less stars was because the staff was a bit rude. They just seemed irritated the entire time I was there. -1☆ I can see by the owners response to my review and the other critical reviews that you're just rude in general and so I wont be returning since you clearly dont want my business. -1☆ Photos attached is owner being rude to other reviewers.

My girlfriend was looking forward to trying this place out. We get there just after 7 thinking there is plenty of time. The lights where on inside and we could see 2 people standing behind the counter. When we went to open the door it was locked. The people inside turned their backs to us and completely ignored us. We tried the other thinking that would work. Nope. Still ignored. Then sign outside says open until 8. If you aren't going to open then change your sign and update it to reflect the hours you're open. Update your times on Google too so people aren't upset when they come and waste time driving there. Bad business.

UPDATE 8/12/23: Stopped here tonight with my son who's never been to Dinos. I was disappointed at first because there was no plain peanut butter cookie dough, however, the owner surprised me with some that wasn't out. Best part was the extra scoop she gave me before we left. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! ❤️ Most of the cookie dough flavors were way too sweet for me, but you can never go wrong with chocolate chip and the peanut butter.

And to think I would have been a paying customer. Even after the owner being so rude!!! Lost a paying repeat customer cause of it

Aweful and Has no respect for anyones thoughts just jumps the gun with what he assumes is right!!!! Read comments before going here !!!! And was rude and had wrong information on a review my brother in law made! Saying we were in there looking for just free stuff and say well you didnt even say thank you!... well one you were rude to me and my husband in front of my son and I wasnt rude to you and I wasnt in for just somthing free!!!! I intended I also buy not just get a free scoop !!! I WILL SAY IT AGIAN ME AND MY BROTHER IN LAW HAD ALL INTENDT TO BUY !!!! ONE SCOOP IS NEVER ENOUGH. I WASNT THERE TO JUST USE SOME 1 VERY SMALL FREE SCOOP COUPON. YOU HAVE BEEN VERY RUDE AND UNKIND TO ME MY BROTHER IN LAW MY SON AND MY HUSBAND FOR NO REASON CAUSE YOU ASUME WE WANTED SOMTHING FOR JUST FREE WELL LET ME TELL YOU WHAT BUDDY YOU WERE WRONG !!!!!! I WAS READY TO SPEAD SPEAD SPEAD !!!!! YATES HERE I COME AND FROYO. AND I DID LEFT THERE AND TOOK MY FAT FOOD LOVIN BUTT TO YATES. WHERE THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND CIDER IN COLD AND THE SCOOPS ARE LARGE

so I had been into Dinos before with my sister in law. And at first I thought it was an ok place. The lady who had helped up was only a little rude and I did not see the owner dino that night and then I wanted another shot at it and the school had sent us free coupons and I plan to take my husband and my son out to use these coupons and get them hooked so I can go like EVERYDAY. But when we got there and tryed to use the coupons the school sent home we were told by the OWNER himself that the school messed up and should not have done that the coupons were for students only although it did NOT say that on the coupon all it said was one free scoop. And he was really rude to me when I wasnt even trying to be rude to him all I said and very calmly I dont understand why I cant use them when then school sent it home he didnt just take the school gave to us. As I allowed my son to pick somthing out he kept running his rude mouth for no reason I wasnt being rude to him or saying anything else. so instead of desiding to buy somthing I desided to just leave. when I was told no I was still going to buy untill I was verbally attack for no reason seemed just like cause he was crabby the OWNER. .. well as I'm reading reviews I see hes been like this to alot of people and it's sad cause when I get hook I'm there everyday and I spend big bucks and bring friends and make reviews and walking billboards. it's sad I so wanted to like it !!!!!!!!!! but who wants to returned when you are talked to that badly by the OWNER DINO HIMSELF !!!! when I wasnt rude to him I didnt raise my voice I just let my son order and tryied to ignore his rude comments. And was going to get cookie dough anyways. but no desided I would take my business else where since he was so unkind and cold.

I really wanted to get some...

First, I would like to say that I am not here to de-value the establishment and would like to note that I am a repeat PAYING customer. I do enjoy the cookie dough and ice cream here. I have never been sick from the product so not sure why there are many reviews stating that. I have found this establishment to be very clean and well kept..

However, It makes me really really sad to see the owner, Dino, on here responding to constructive criticism in a very aggressive manner.

I can say that the customer service here for the most part has been decent. I have never had an issue with any of the employees being rude to me during a visit. I can however note that the energy of the establishment seems somewhat uncomfortable.

The sample policy clearly seems to be a recurring theme causing issues. For the price of a scoop of cookie dough, you should be able to at least sample 2-3 different types before selecting your choice. Im not even saying we need a full spoon, just a taste? I understand the “people know what ice cream is like” argument for sampling the ice cream products, however there are so many establishments that I can count in the area allowing samples of ice cream products with no fuss or issues. Not even saying you need to allow ice cream samples but clearly we repeat customers would like to see something change here!

Another issue I have had here is asking for an extra cup (without product) in it. An employee was kind enough to give me a cup (I purchased 3 scoops of cookie dough and a cup of ice cream) only to then hear Dino reprimand the employee for giving me a cup and not charging me for it? I don’t mean to use harsh terms but the feel of that is just “stingy” or “cheap” to me. ESPECIALLY in an area like this...

Regardless, I do enjoy the product that Dino and his family provide and the experience they bring to the area. Cookie dough is an uncommon experience so I love to see the variety this place brings. Dino - please..as a frequent customer hear my words from a place of positivity. I want to see you stick around and create a good buzz in the...

My date and I went here instead of the more popular desert destination, Sanders, on Main Street and I was very skeptical to say the least. Frankly it was hot as could be outside that June evening and I just wanted an ice cream treat to cool off with and savor. We walked right past Sanders and for about 1 minute amd arrived at Dino’s. I wasn’t excited to give Dino’s a shot in all honesty. But then we entered Dino’s and it was nothing short of a sanitary, safe and family oriented environment. The staff, an elderly woman and man were super polite, friendly and answered all of our questions. I settled on 2 scoops of Key Lime Pie Ice Cream nestled in a waffle cone after I inquired about it and learned about how it’s made, the company that supplies the limes used to make it, etc. Let me say this: that was possibly the best two scoops of ice cream I have ever had. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Two scoops of Heaven in a waffle cone! WOW! If you like key lime pie you are going to love the Key Lime Pie ice cream Dino’s serves. If you don’t, then you don’t know what authentic key lime pie is supposed to taste like. I will be back for more of the same every time I’m in downtown Rochester because it was unequivocally delicious. My date enjoyed a single scoop of cookie dough snuggled below a single scoop of coffee flavored ice cream, which she devoured and she is only 99 1/2 lbs and hardly eats anything. I tasted hers, too, and it was outstanding. My initial trepidation passing up Sanders in lieu of walking into the unknown Dino’s Cookie Dough Bar was short lived, to say the least. This is the kind of place where you probably can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Great value as well. I would like to personally thank Dino’s Cookie Dough Bar for providing my date and I with the perfect summer treat to cap off an excellent summer evening adventure together in Downtown Rochester. Thanks again! Check it...
