Good food but not amazing, service needs some work. Here’s an honest review. First time dining here. Had a reservation for 8:30, got seated early and opted for the outdoor patio, very beautiful view of river and you could hear it going by which was nice. Ordered 2 appetizers, one was good and the other (scallops) was amazing, probably one of the best scallop dishes we have had. For entrees we ordered 2 of the freshly made pastas, they were good but by no means mind blowing. I ordered the rabbit fettuccini and was very disappointed to have found 3 bones, 2 of them fairly large and 2 other pieces of hard tendon or cartilage. With a rustic dish like that maybe 1 small bone would be able to be looked past, but the size and quantity of them for this caliper restaurant was a pretty big disappointment. It wasn’t enjoyable to take each bite and fish around feeling for bones. I had them set aside and the waiter noticed them (I didn’t complain to him about it or even menrtion it) and he comped our dessert at the end which was a nice gesture. The dessert we got was the chocolate molten cake, it was very good. I also ordered a glass of wine with my dish based on the waiters recommendation and it paired very nicely. The busser who clears dishes as you eat and refilled waters walked past me 4 times with an empty water glass right on the edge of the table and never filled it, and he looked right at it. He finally made some rounds with water, ran out at the table before ours, and then skipped our table to get a bottle of sparkiling water for newly sat table and never came back to finish filling the other tables waters. I had to finally ask him for water. That kind of thing is unacceptable when spending decent money at a place like this. I heard the table across making some similar comments about both the waiter and the busser not being very attentive. Same with our waiter, he did ok but definitely not great with attentiveness. Maybe they were short staffed on the patio, but again at certain calibers of restaurants you expect a certain level of service. Leaving an empty water for 15 minutes is just not acceptable and should never happen with a properly trained staff. 2x during the service we had someone try to deliver dishes to us that we did not order, again not typical for a well trained staff at an upscale place. Also we were never offered or given a bread basket which it seemed the tables around us had, again another little thing but all these mistakes would not be expected for a nicer place. Overall I would come back and definitely want to sit on the patio again as the atmosphere by the river was one of the highlights. Food was good but not amazing other than the scallops and dessert, so next time we will try other main courses. Hopefully the service errors was just a bad night for them and won’t happen next time, we will give them another...
Read moreVery good food, nice atmosphere, but service level was below expectations and not supportive of the high menu prices. My wife and I had dinner here last night along with 6 friends. Nice atmosphere. Band playing, not too loud as per some other reviews, at least where we were sitting. Very good food, but server was inattentive. When you’re spending ~$100 per person on a meal and drinks, you expect the service to be above average. Service last night was no better than a typical fast/casual restaurant and actually worse than some of the local pubs. First drink and food order was taken ok, but then server disappeared. Had to chase him down to order more drinks. This is frustrating to me for two reasons. First, when menu prices are this high, I expect part of that should be reflected in the level of service, which it was not, so from that perspective, the place was too pricey. Second, as a business person, I was looking at money that could have been made if the server was more attentive. Most of the people at the table would have had at least another drink had the server bothered to check back as he should have. I had to track him down twice to order desert. Almost gave up on that. (First time he said he’d be back in a minute, but never returned.) After he took our desert order, he left– didn’t bother to check with anyone else at the table. Under other circumstances, I probably would have said something to the manager. I’m sure the response would have been they are under staffed – which is becoming a go to excuse. If that’s the case, the prices should be lowered to reflect the value of the experience. There was a nice crowd, but they didn’t appear to be slammed. I don’t know how many servers they had working. There was a gentleman in a suit giving directions to the servers and kitchen staff bringing out food - maybe an owner or manager. Other than spending some time at the table behind us (didn't appear to be just socializing), he didn’t seem that interested in his patrons. Again, at a place trying to provide a high end value, in my opinion, he should have been visiting guests and checking and making sure they were enjoying their evening. There were 8 of us at a table. At $50-100 per person, was worthy of a hello by the manager. It was our first time there so I will give them the benefit of the doubt, possibly an off night. I know it happens. We will probably give them another try because the food and atmosphere was good, but not anytime soon. There are lots of other places where a $200 dinner for two is a better value...
Read moreAs you can tell by recent reviews, this restaurant definitely lacks good customer service and hospitality. You can have beautiful decor and good food, but if the staff is rude and unwelcoming, it makes it not worth it.
Hopefully they will listen to these reviews that are pointing out their poorly trained staff on customer service and hospitality. It will only help them and their business.
We had a horrible dining experience on 4-29-23 @5pm.
I brought my family to the silver spoon for the first time last night and we had a table of 5. We did not have a reservation and was told we were added to the waitlist. Whoever the the hostess was last night, really missed the mark. The first experience we had at your restaurant was a very poor one. The way we were treated by the hostess was unacceptable. She embarrassed us in front of other guests, saying how she’s going to be screamed at later by a party of 6 that ACTUALLY had a reservation - thanks to us. She clearly made us aware that we were making her job more difficult.
We simply came in to the restaurant after hearing good things, if she didn’t want to seat us without a reservation she should have said no. But instead, she persistently made rude remarks on how we were difficult, how she’s going to get screamed at later, we felt as if we were Burden. We spent over $300 last night. We enjoyed the food and Kat our waitress made us feel a little better. Although the food was good, we will not be returning to this establishment and we will give honest feedback to those interested in your restaurant. 5 separate quests with us will be writing google reviews about the experiences we had last night and I wish we could have said better things! I would love the opportunity to speak to someone about our feedback. I’m not looking for a hand out, I’m looking to give feedback, to enhance future guests experience. No one should ever experience the type of attitude and belittlement that we received by your...
