Overall itâs not bad food by any means, but itâs nothing special either. Iâll start with the positives, I love the big menu board thatâs simple to decide what you can order, and clear how to build a meal. I ordered the steak fiery sandwich, the bread is good, chipotle sauce had a nice kick, presentation of the sandwhich was nice, good cheese, but what really missed it for me was the steak. They give you a decent amount of steak, but it did not taste like it was seasoned to any regard, I ate a few pieces that fell off and they were extremely plain with no salt or seasoning at all, very bland. Luckily the sauce really helps give the flavor that they put on the sandwhich, but I was very disappointed by the actual steak. Second I ordered a side of Mac and cheese, this was also very disappointing, it was about as plain as Mac and cheese gets, and mine was luke warm at best, almost border line cold, honestly as soon as my wife brought it to the table I was immediately disappointed in how the Mac and cheese looked, and then trying a bite of it, also very bland and not seasoned at all. My wifeâs sub, the all American, was decent but also the same issue, no seasoning on the steak at all. She ordered cheese curds which were actually pretty decent, they are cubed shaped and tasted good overall. We had a buy one sub get one free, so with 2 of the large subs, side of Mac and cheese, and side of cheese curds it was $30, including a 15% tip, just water no drinks which would of added another $7 total. Regarding the tip, although you get all your own drinks, food, everything (which is a good model) etc, but Iâm not sure why they even ask for a tip if your do 100% your own service, but I gave one anyways, hopefully it goes to the staff. Now if you didnât have the buy one sub get one free it would of cost $14 more for a total of $44 for two subs and 2 sides which is very steep for what you get, and had you gotten 2 drinks your up to $51. I would say their target market of golfers wanting a quick bite to eat, or someone wanting some food with some drinks would be fine with the quality, especially with a few beers in you, but I wouldnât seek this place out otherwise with the quality of the food and the price for what you get. Iâm not really sure how they won best Philly in town with how under seasoned the steak was, it literally was as bland as if I just cooked a cut up steak in a pan and served it as is without even a drop of salt and pepper or any thing else to give it flavor. The lady working the counter was very friendly, plenty of parking, I canât say itâs bad but overall just very average and expensive for what your getting, and avoid the mac and cheese. 3 out of 5...
Read moreI was anticipating eating here with very high regards as the restaurant came highly recommended to me by some of our local friends here in Rochester.
As such, the absolutely appalling sandwich I received with my first and only visit here was quite a shock when I had heard so many people speak so highly of this establishment.
Even their #1 review on google maps says "Their sub's could easily be 2 meals!" boy how wrong that review is.
Upon receiving my meal I noticed that the bread it was on was extremely small and wimpy, super soft with no crispness to it what so ever. The second thing I noticed was that all I could see legitimately of my sandwich was bread, bread, and more bread. Wait a minute! didn't I order a philly cheese steak sandwich? where's all the fillings?
I opened my sandwich, and to my surprise there were in fact a few morsels of what resembled meat tucked away ever so sparingly inside the bread. There couldn't have been more than 2 OZ of meat in the entirety of both halves of the sandwich.
Now, as if the serving size of this dismal sandwich wasn't bad enough, I had held out one last hope that perhaps the flavor would be absolutely amazing and justify the $13.00... Yes $13.00 price tag of this failure. However what awaited my taste buds was nothing more than a flavorless measly tongue tickler of meat and the most incredibly bland cheese Sauce you can possibly imagine. Think of when you were a kid and paid $0.50 for the gas station nacho cheese on top of the little platter of chips. This was more bland than that and you got far less food than you would have with the 50 cent gas station nachos.
Attached are pictures of this failure placed conveniently next to a standard 500ML (16 OZ) bottle of water. The sandwich is a dwarf standing in the shadow of goliath.
Save your money and go eat elsewhere, I would recommend anything else...

First off, letâs talk about the menu. Itâs a delightful mix of classic Philly favorites and unique twists that cater to every palate. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, topped with just the right amount of gooey cheese and served on a fresh, crusty roll. Itâs a taste of Philadelphia right here!
The appetizers are equally impressive. I highly recommend the freshly made fries and onion rings â crispy, seasoned to perfection, and served with a delicious cheese sauce that had me reaching for more. Every bite was a flavor explosion!
Not only does Townies boast fantastic food, but the drink menu is equally enticing. The craft beer selection highlights local breweries, and the cocktails are creatively crafted. I enjoyed a refreshing blackbeer crown with a sprite that perfectly complemented my meal.
