Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Rockford Township

This is now the 2nd time in a month I've tried to eat at an Applebee's and ended up walking out of 2 separate locations in 2 different states. The 1st location had an entire section unoccupied, but due to staffing they kept that section closed forcing a wait of 20 minutes or longer. This location's problems began with miscommunications between the staff. A host sat us at a table he just washed, but left with standing water still on the table. My wife had to ask the 1st server for additional napkins. The 1st server identified herself as our server and took our drink order. She delivered our drinks and walked away. We assumed because we were still trying to figure out the menu. I mean that literally. There was a separate menu called the "2 for 20" menu, but the individual dishes on the menu also had individual prices. I guess so you could order ala carte, but that was never explained. While we were waiting for our drinks a different server approached us to take a drink order. We told her another server had already taken our drink order and she walked away. After almost 15 minutes the 1st server came back and asked if the 2nd server had taken our order. We said we thought she was our server and had told the 2nd that's what we thought. Ok, so now the 1st server is wanting to take our order, but we had questions. There was reference to a "2 for 25" menu and 1 item on the "2 for 20" menu had a $3 higher cost than the other 3 or 4 items on the menu and yet she indicated that all items on the menu came with the "2for 20" deal. Then she kind of corrected herself and said the higher cost item would have a $2.50 up charge, which of course didn't equal the listed $3 cost. Maybe it was the wait that prompted us to leave, but the confusion and inability, even after consulting someone else who had the appearance of authority, to explain the menu and pricing...

Terrible time. We came during dollaritas and I knew the servers were busy, so we were prepared to wait, but our server Kiara constantly forgot drinks. We ordered 3 dollaritas and a Pepsi, only received 2 dollaritas. Figured we’d get the other dollarita and Pepsi in a bit (we didn’t think she could carry all four) but waited 10 minutes and then asked about it and she said she forgot. Then we ordered another dollarita, waited maybe 15-20 minutes before we were even able to track down A server (not ours) to ask about it and they didn’t bring it for another 10 minutes. We hardly ever saw our server and when we did she constantly forgot things we ordered. Then she got sat a 12 top and we really never saw her. Ended up asking another server for our bill and when no one showed up to take it, I walked our cards and bills up to the bar to pay. The first chick I talked to (I think it was the host) was extremely snappy when I asked her and said “can you wait for your server” and slammed the ice bin cover down hard. Another server was with her and was kind and said “I can take care of it” but then handed it off to the manager. The manager was extremely nice and helped me pay my bill. When I got back to our table to give back the cards/receipts to my friends our server then showed up. That was the first time we had seen her in...

So 2nd time here, 1st visit waited for awhile to get attention of worker. 1 seen us said nothing, hubby went up too said she getting off work. Sorry she can't help. Didnt even try to let someone aware. Waited a few more then left. 2nd time around 5pm waited 5 min to get seated. We waited awhile for waiter to come by She was very Nice. Told her our drinks and appetizers. Drink time was reasonable for just water wait was lot longer. Dinner Order was taken . Appetizers came fair time. At around 6 an order came out that we did not order. We continued to wait. 6 :25 They had doubled a different order so ours was not even started. We canceled order. Manager at time came said waiter had alot going on apologized. Waiter came and apologized see what she or manager could do for us. We got full Bill of appetizers and drinks.$ 48 , Manager gave us 2 $5 coupons next visit. Smh I felt a Lil insulted. Waiting almost 2 hrs! First off maybe as Manager take some of the Load! Especially if ya know . I did ask if we could get a Lil discount for the inconvenience, they took the coupons they just gave us...😒🙁..
